Cut It Up Challenge #212 Happy Thanksgiving Box or Bag

For our challenge this week at Cut It Up, its to make a Happy Thanksgiving box or bag. I found these bags at Hobby Lobby and I made this cute little bag of candies. I folded the bag in thirds and made a belly band 2 x 9 1/2 and I stamped these lines by Concord & 9th to make it look plaid. The paper bag is 5 1/2 x 8. I added a small piece of burlap underneath my digi image. Digi image is by Digital Delights by Looby Loo. I colored my image with copics. I used a circle diecut by Memory Box as my die cut for this project. Digital Delights is currently out of business but our prize will be 2 adorable digi images.

I can't wait to see what you make for Cut It Up this week and don't forget to use a die cut!

Happy 100th Birthday!

This person sure deserved a card for her 100th birthday during Covid. It was for a stamping friend's grandma so I said I would make her a fun card :).

Cruisin' by to Say Happy Birthday

Doesn't everyone want a purple VW filled with pumpkins and your hair blowing in the wind? I sent this to my sister for her birthday last month.

2021 Calendar

Each year I make 2 of my friends a calendar for Christmas. They have an old 5x7 frame that has a clip on it (no glass) and they re-use the frame each year. These measure 4x6. I've had these ready for awhile and made them when I was in "lock down" (or so it felt like it was at the time!).

Day 8 Simply Watercolor Christmas card class with Kristina Werner

Today is Day 8 of the Simply Watercolor Christmas card class with the fantastic Kristina Werner.  You can still sign up here. I actually did the Santa card on one take - I was not too sure about his beard but once the grays dried, it was fine. The Joy ornaments card took me 2 tries but I was happy with this one.

I learned so much this week and last week taking Kristina's classes. Many thanks to the additional guests too. I highly recommend you take the class.

You Make Everything S'more Fun

Here is another s'more card I made using the rectangle stencil by Taylored Expressions. I love all the shapes of these stencils. I use them quite a bit!! My lightening bugs and hummingbirds are gone for the season. I brought in my hummingbird feeder for the winter and will put it out again April 1st, in the Spring.

Day 7 Simply Watercolor Christmas card class with Kristina Werner

We're getting closer to the end of the watercolor class and this is day 7. Today it was words and typography and I was scared at first to try it but once I got going, I couldn't stop! LOL

Again, no stamps were used, just my Koi watercolors and Jane Davenport watercolor paints and water. For the gold, I tried 2 different methods - first, I tried my gold pen I got at Hobby Lobby and I didn't like it at first but after using it a few times, I got used to it. I also tried my gold acrylic paint and now I prefer the gold pen.

Day 6 of Simply Watercolor Christmas cards with Kristina Werner

This class is getting more fun each day!!! Today was all about
dramatic backgrounds. Lots of watercolor paints, lots of
layers, lots of drying with heat tool in between
layers and then painting stars with gold paint or
snowflakes with a white signo gel pen. Then, we
moved onto the top 2 cards. I love these trees and the
backgrounds!!! I painted more all afternoon and
I love how those 2 came out!!

Happy Halloween!

Day 5 Simply Watercolor Christmas Class

It's all about PLAID today in our class with Kristina Werner. I love plaid!! Especially on Christmas cards. Here are today's cards. Each background was made with watercolor paints and water. For the hearts cut out, I used a heart die cut by Concord & 9th. No stamps were used on any of these cards.

Can't wait to see what Day 6 brings tomorrow!!

Boo

Halloween will definitely be different this year. Hubby has bought a HUGE bag of candy from Costco, despite my begging him not to. And yes, we are already eating it!! LOL

Our trees are starting to change color here in the Carolina's. Check out below the trees and my huge leaf I found (biggest leaf I've ever seen!) while on my morning walk.

We Believe in Santa Paws

How cute is this set by Taylored Expressions? All of my dog friends will get cards with these cute dogs on them this year. I just love them. I paired this up with my waterpainted sketched tree that I learned how to paint in Kristina Werner's latest Simply Watercolor class. Since this is for a "I'm Dreaming of a Pink Christmas" challenge, I made the tree pink instead of green.

Cut It Up Challenge #211 Sketch

We have a sketch for you today at Cut It Up this week. I had fun with this sketch. I used a digi image from CC Designs and you can find it here. I used several die cuts on my card and I will list them below photo. I doodled around the edge of the circle using my Zig marker.

I can't wait to see what you create using our sketch and please don't forget your die cut(s). The winner of this challenge will receive a stamp set called Best Witches by Pink and Main.

I am also entering this in the following challenge:

Day 4 Simply Watercolor Christmas Card

In Kristina Werner's Simply Watercolor Christmas card class ,we are
on Day 4. There are 8 days total so we have more next week too.
(4 days each week)

This card, by far, was the hardest one I've made so far!! I'm thinking
I'd like it better if it was darker so the tree would stand out more but I don't
want to mess it up. I used the masking fluid pen again -
it's so hard to get the fluid out but it did rub off a lot easier this time
than on past cards. Just need to keep practicing I guess.

The Crafter's Cafe Challenge # 253 - Use Pink

At the Crafter's Cafe this week, the challenge is use pink (for breast cancer awareness month). My bff Robin fought breast cancer for 8 long years and passed away 13 years ago. I miss her so much. She was only 35 years old. I created my card using this coffee girl image by Sheep Ski Designs. For the background, I used this awesome "square dance" stencil by The Greetery. It comes in 3 stencils and you lay each one down in a different spot to get the different squares. I used 2 shades of pink, going heavier on the one pink. Both inks by Catherine Pooler.

I can't wait to see your pink creations over at The Crafter's Cafe.

Day 3 of Simply Watercolor Christmas

Today is Day 3 of Simply Watercolor Christmas with Kristina Werner and we made these cards plus another one that I never got to. More masking with the "drawing gum" pen and we learned how to transfer lines onto watercolor paper making our own "graphite" paper.

Sure feels like Fall here!

I made a slimline card using all these cute Fall critters from Sunny Studios. They even have little sweaters to keep themselves warm :).

Day 2 of Simply Watercolor Christmas

Today is Day 2 of Simply Watercolor Christmas with Kristina Werner. We did some more masking using masking fluid. All I could find was the masking fluid pen and I'm not a big fan of it. Hobby Lobby had it. These were my 2 cards.

Special Delivery

When I saw this latest set by Taylored Expressions, I had to get it. I love the little dog images!! It's called Gus & Gertie Holiday Adventures. They shipped so fast and they even threw in the "gift" die cut for free :). Snowflakes are by Unity Stamps. I love this color combination in the blue/kraft/white.

My watercolor cards for Kristina Werner''s watercolor Christmas online class

I joined Kristina Werner's Watercolor Christmas Card Class and today is Day 1. First, we made 4 watercolored cards using just watercolors and water. For my watercolor paints, I used my Koi watercolors and I painted the bows in the Koi shimmer paints but not sure you can see them that great here. Will need to practice more on that. I do love how my Christmas tree came out though :). Just masking tape and watercolors. And then I decided to add some tiny star diecuts cut out in glitter cardstock. This was a simple and easy card to re-produce. You can find her class here and I believe you can sign up at anytime. I always learn so much from Kristina and I have been stamping for 20+ years.
