What do you get when you cross a very heavy frying pan, my glasses and the bridge of my nose?

That is the question of the day. HA You can only guess what is coming next but I thought I would type it here just once so I am not telling the story over and over to my mom, sister, Amy, etc. So .... yesterday was Aubrey's brother (Aubrey is Charlie's brother). He shares his birthday with their mother but this year she decided she was going to Charlestown, WV to do some gambling with friends (she is 84). So in years past, she has always been with Aubrey and they celebrate their birthdays together. This year she will come down in a few weeks and we will celebrate it all over again. So ... I made spaghetti for dinner and I was cleaning the dishes. I was actually drying this huge frying pan - this was one heavy frying pan - so how this happened I have no idea .... but while I was drying it, I guess I put it close to my face so I can see if I got it dry enough before I put it away and it slipped out my hand and went flying into my glasses which caused my glasses to press into the bridge of my nose. It hurt like crazy!!! It only bled a little and I thought for sure I would have a black & blue nose this morning but its just a tiny little scab there now and my nose is a tiny bit swollen but not too bad at all. So that is my story. I laugh now but it was not funny at the time! (Debbie, I know you are laughing out loud if you are reading this. Stop it right now!)

Lots of hummingbirds fluttering around by my kitchen window

Now these guys are really hard to get in action ....

Its not very often you see a deer and a turkey pretty close to each other

and I had to capture in on film :)

Look how cute these cakes are ...

I cannot take credit for making them. Erin sent me the link from Betty Crocker and the flip flop one of course is my #1 favorite!!

So my friend Robin called me yesterday to take her to the mall ...

Why was I so excited to take her to the mall? Well, I have known Robin now for 13 years. We met when our 2 girls were in pre-school together in NC. I immediately grew a friendship with her. Robin is 41 and was diagnosed 6 years ago with Stage 4 breast cancer. She was determined to beat it and still has not given up. She now has it in her bones, hip, spine, and now liver. She has gone off chemo treatments and the doctors say there's nothing more they can do. Hospice has been called in and they come to her house every Thursday to take her blood pressure, listen to her heart and see if she needs more pain meds. She is just so amazing and I am so glad I have her in my life. So back to what I was saying ... I have been telling Robin "call me if you need anything" and she finally did!!! I took her to the mall and we shopped to get her husband an anniversary present. They've been married 21 years tomorrow. She found the PERFECT gift and I can't give it away just in case he sees this (right Jeff?). We had a great day shopping, I pushed her in her wheelchair and just like the last time I pushed her around, I jammed the back of her wheelchair into my right shin. OUCH!! I now have a bruise there but we had a good laugh just like last time. I am going to try and spend as much as time as I can with her since we have no idea how long she has. Its just so sad!! Cancer STINKS!!

Just got back from my garden and look what I came back with

Lots and lots of veggies. I decided to toss out my cucumber plants since they were doing so bad anyway. They were so bitter tasting. But all of the other veggies are doing great. Look, its a feast!!! And here is Ladybug looking "pitiful" because she wants to eat these veggies. lol

Lots of butterflies and bumble bees buzzzzzzzzzzing around ...

Some photos of my garden

We have lots of tomatoes. Our cantelopes are getting big too.

In yesterday's newspaper, there were 4 different ads that read: SPRINGER SPANIEL PUPPIES FOR SALE

So the kids & I went and looked at some on Lake Norman. It was only about 45 minutes away so it wasn't too far. They were only 3 weeks old and so tiny. They were liver and white and I think if we got another puppy, that is the color I would want this time. The guy kept saying how they would be ready to go home at 4 weeks. 4 weeks? Is he crazy? We just looked at them, held them, they slept most of the time but decided these were NOT the ones for us. The mom and dad were both there and were not show quality dogs so I don't think they are what i am looking for. There was another batch of pups in Sparta, NC which is in the mountains, just off the Blue Ridge Parkway. We had an appt set up to go up today at lunch but I called the lady and told her we had changed our mind. Once again, we went to her website and she had the mom's photo on there and she was "ugly", more of a sport breed not the show breed so again, we just didn't go. We'll keep looking and in the meantime I will try and decide is this is what we really want!?

Emily went back to the oral surgeon today for her post-op. All is good. She has this syringe to rinse out her "holes" in the back of her mouth after she eats so nothing gets trapped in there.

I woke up with my lip all swollen. I have no idea if something bit me, if I ate something and had an allergic reaction or what?!!?

That's it and its only Monday. lol

My sister Debbie sent me a recent photo of her son Nathan

and you can see Nathan has long hair too. Just thought I would share.

Here are some other cards I recently made if you want to take a peek

My newest Stampin Up stamps came last night and I am loving this moose set

Isn't he the cutest? Kinda looks like Bullwinkle, don't you think? :)

Emily is doing great since her wisdom teeth came out.

Charlie & Nicholas are having TOO MUCH fun in FL I think. Neither of them wants to come home. How can that be? Its so hot down there! It was 62 degrees here this morning - now that is my kind of weather!! And its only 75 here today and overcast. I picked my first RED tomato this morning. I have 6 tomato plants and one of them has the leaves all eaten of it so my neighbor says I have this worm that I need to find and get rid of him. Does this mean I have to SQUISH him? Ugh! I looked and looked and did not see any worm. He said to go out first thing in the morning so if I can wake up early enough I will go out tomorrow and give the whole plant a looking over!! I don't want him to eat all my leaves off!! The rest of the garden is doing great! I have more cucumbers than I know what to do with and they are absolutely HORRID tasting so I think I am just going to dig up the whole plant and throw it away!!! The cucumbers are real bitter. It must be something in my soil. Note to self - no cucumbers next year. Last year they were awful too.

If you are still reading this far, I am NOT doing a new blog. So for those of you who helped me with a new blog name, thanks but I am not going to do one at the moment. I just think its going to be too hard to have 2 blogs going on at one time. So I will continue to post all of my cards on this blog, no matter what stamp company they are from.

Until next time ...

I am re-thinking whether or not I will make up another blog

so please do not leave anymore suggestions at this time. I will re-post another note if I decide to go ahead with it. I have had a few negative comments so I may just leave this blog as it is and continue to post other cards as well. Thanks everybody!!

Emily got all 4 wisdom teeth pulled yesterday ...

She actually slept pretty good last night and I woke her every 4 hours to give her her pain meds. "They" say day #3 is the worst so that will be tomorrow. Not looking forward to that at all. Charlie and Nicholas drove down to FL for a few days. Nicholas has been playing with his friends since they got there. That's all I have to report for now ...

So I am thinking about a new blog name?

Any ideas anyone on a new blog name? This stamp company Magnolia who I am designing for has asked that I don't have any other stamped cards on my blog, besides their stamps so I think I will do a separate blog from my family blog and just make this my family blog from now on. I don't know.

Any ideas??!?!??! I will send a prize to the person's I pick :)

Happy 4th of July!!

Its going to be near 85 here today. We went to Harrisburg, a town next to us, to watch fireworks last night. They had a concert going on and all kinds of things but we stopped at Sonic on the way, got a few milkshakes and just watched the fireworks. They were pretty good!! I decided to start walking today. Nicholas and I walked up to see the camel and back and that's 1/2 mile. So we walked 1 mile. I haven't been able to exercise in so long due to that surgery I had so I am finally able to start back at it. EVERY DAY I am going to make myself get out and walk!! I hope everyone has a happy and healthy 4th!!
