Life is better on the beach

I love this surfer dude from Bugaboo Images. I wasn't sure how I was going to do the background but I just kind of swiped at it with some a Catherine Pooler ink pad and got this background. I kinda liked it after I did it so I just kept it as is.

Yappy Birthday

This card is called the Off-the-Edge Die Cut Card and I watched the video by Jennifer McGuire and love how it came out. It was really easy too once you watch her video. I colored them with Copic markers and I used a little dab of Ink on 3 Liquid Pixie Dust on 2 of them.

Back to School

I can't believe school starts here August 8th. They're starting a new thing this year where they start in early August and then they will get out late May. I wonder how the kids like that?

For this card, I made a card with a stamped border. I don't remember ever trying this technique. I got out my newest stamp set by PhotoPlay called School Days. I made the little dots using my old handy dandy Stampin Up mat pack, who remembers that? I don't even know if Stampin Up still sells them. And I used my Tonic paper piercer and it worked great for making the tiny holes. You can see the stamped border technique here.

Santa tag

My first Christmas gift tag of the season. I was recently at Tuesday Morning buying some fat quarters of fabric and they had a whole ton of craft supplies too. I found this cute Santa set by Bo Bunny for $3 that I had to get. Isn't he cute? I watercolored him with Gina K ink.

For this card, I used this stencil by using Black Soot - Distress Oxide inks on it. Then I colored the flowers using my Koi watercolor paints, cut it out and placed it on top.
I decided to make it into a sympathy card. I'm working on adding a few
different ones to add to my card stash for when I need them, I can just grab them right away.

Off the Edge stamping over at Back to Basics and Beyond

Today over at Back to Basics and Beyond, we are stamping off the edge of our cards. I chose to try this technique called The Baby Wipe Technique. Here is the video I watched and followed. I only have 2 re-inkers so I used both my Stampin Up colors "Watermelon Wonder" and "Cucumber Crush". I embossed the sentiment in white WOW embossing powder so it would stand out on the black. I love this stamp set by Concord & 9th and use it a lot!! Would love to see your cards over at BBB.

Lucky Me to have a Friend Like You

I just love this flower set by Concord & 9th. I watercolored it with Catherine Pooler's spring collection. I love Catherine Pooler inks because you can also watercolor with them. Sending this to a friend who's having a tough time right now and hoping it will cheer her up :).

Another Christmas card in July

Christmas Card Throwdown - Red/Green/Brown
Shopping Our Stash - Christmas in July

I picked this die up at Hobby Lobby in January, in the Christmas markdowns. It was originally $24.99 and I got it for $6.25. How could I pass that up? For the background, I tried Jennifer McGuire's paint dragging technique with acrylic paints and an old credit card. It's really very easy and you can get neat backgrounds. You can see her video here. I didn't have any brown cardstock so I had to make my own using Catherine Pooler's brown inks - Sand Castle and Icing On the Cake. I smeared it onto a ziplock bag, sprayed some water and put the watercolor cardstock into it. Let dry, then die cut out my piece. Easy peasy!! I do like this die better using black cardstock but since this one challenge called for red/green and brown, I am going with this. I have a pretty good head start on my holiday cards because of these challenges. How about you?

The Crafter's Cafe Animals and/or ATC

This week at The Crafter's Cafe, the challenge is Animals and/or ATC. I made an ATC using this adorable digi image. ATC's measure 2 1/2 x 3 1/2. I used to swap them many years ago and I still have binders FULL of them from all my fellow swappers. I just can't seem to part with any of them.

We're also teaming up with Double Trouble, see details below. We would love to see you play at The Crafter's Cafe and Double Trouble.

I would also like to enter this in the following challenges:

Rainbow cake, anyone?

I recently tried the Catherine Pooler inks and let me just say, THEY ARE A GAME CHANGER!!! You can ink your stamps directly onto the stamp pads and you get a clean, crisp image (the trick is to use light taps, do not press hard onto her ink pads). You can also use the same inks to watercolor!! Not since the Tim Holtz Oxide inks came out, have I been this excited about ink pads!! Right now I have about 12 ink pads but I think I must get the whole collection!! They are fantastic! Also, I ordered mine directly from Catherine Pooler and they came within 3 days! 3 days!!

I made this rainbow cake using Catherine Pooler inks and Oxide inks. Once again, I find myself reaching for this stamp set by Flora & Fauna. I love it and can't get enough of it!! LOL

Back to basics and Beyond Photo Challenge

For this week's challenge at Back to Basics and Beyond, we are
to use this photo for inspiration. When I first saw the photo,
I knew immediately I had to dig out this old stamp by Eat Cake Graphics
as I knew I had a chair or a couch stamp and sure enough,
there it was. I will admit I found my inspiration on
Pinterest as to what sentiment to add to it. I hand drew the rug
under it and added the blue diamond to the chair.

I would love to see your creation at BBB.

I got this stamp set from Flora & Fauna this week and I love it! It's called Brush Birthday Set and its one of their brand new summer 2019 stamp sets that just came out. This card was so fast and easy and I can see I will be using it lots for birthday cards in the upcoming months ahead.
