To all my crafting friends ... (I found it at Splitcoast)

Twas the night before Christmas, I'm glued to the tree.
I'm wondering what Santa brought just for me.
Could it be cardstock or inkpads or lace?
Or some stamps, I said, with a smile on my face.
And that's when I heard him......
"Hi Santa, " I said
He replied, "You know....good girls should be in their beds".
"I know I should Santa,and now I've been caught.
But I was just so excited to see what you brought."
"Well, let's take a look in this room where you work".
He shook his head quickly, and left with a jerk.
I heard him exclaim as he put it in gear.
"You've got enough crap,
I'll see you next year!"

2010 Calendars

OUTSIDE OF LARGER CALENDAR

INSIDE OF LARGER CALENDAR

I like to make calendars as gifts and I have been searching high and low for just the perfect calendars. Last year I made the coaster calendars and even though I have 100's of coasters left, I wanted to do something different. When I saw this blog, I knew this was the calendar I had to make. She has 2 on her blog and I made these 2. Aren't they super cute? You can download the calendar template here. Now ... who do I give these to? :)

Its almost time to recycle those old calendars that you would normally throw away

and make envelopes out of them!! I have been doing this the past few years and I think these envelopes come out really neat. Instead of throwing away your old calendars, recycle them into envelopes for your cards!! I actually found these 2009 calendars over the summer marked down to $1 each and I totally forgot I had them. I don't remember where I got the envelope template, somewhere online. Here are the envelopes ....

Do you have a hard time making masculine cards sometimes?

I do. I made these 2 using my retired TAC stamps (I think they're retired) and like how they came out. I have a few birthdays in January and I made these for them.

Stamps by: TAC. I stamped the cars on 2 address labels and then added them to green paper.

Have you ever been attacked by a rooster?

LOL I was today while I was walking through my neighborhood. There were 3 of them and I had my camera with me so I took a few photos of these pretty roosters. The owner drove up and was saying "How do you like my roosters?" I said they are cute and he says "well, be careful, they are not always real nice". He drove over to his house and I started walking again and the next thing I knew one of them went after my leg. I only have 1 scratch but they kept coming after me and I was having to shoo them away. Now I don't think they are that "cute" anymore. LOL

I know its early but I put Christmas music on my blog

My friend Heather from the Stamp Shack said she has been listening to Christmas music already so after looking on the internet for what seemed like HOURS this morning, I FINALLY found a website that I can easily add Christmas music to my blog. The website is called LaLa so if you want or need Christmas music on your blog this is where you can find it. I added some of my favorites. Just click on each one or click on "play all" if you plan to listen to it all day. LOL

PS Only 44 days till Christmas!! I might just put up my Christmas tree on the day after Thanksgiving. How about you?

I'm in love with ... a Martha Stewart snowman scene border punch

LOL I love anything with snowmen and I love a great punch so when I saw this ... I knew I HAD to have it!! I figured I would have to order it online since our Michael's never gets these new punches until they've been around for a year or more. But I went to a craft show in Lexington to see my friend Michelle who was in the craft show and decided to stop in the stamp store near her which is named Peanut Doodles. She gets all the brand new punches when they first come out!! These are the 2 cards I made with it ...

Have you seen the brand new Cuttlebug folder called "Season's Greetings?"

I got it today at Stampers Alley in Mooresville. I also had to have this brand new Stamp of the Month Santa by Great Impressions (one can NEVER have too many Santa's right?). I used some glossy accents for his eyeglasses and gave him rosy cheeks and glitter on his hat. For the cuttlebug folder background, I used different colors of chalk and then sprayed it with hairspray to keep it from smearing. So far, so good!!

While I was at Stampers Alley this morning, a girl was in there and she said "Hey I know you. I read your blog". I thought wow how neat is that!! She was with a group of girls in the stamping area and they were making these cute boxes with cute tops on them. One of them asked Brenda if she knew anyone else who would want to join "their group". Well, my ears perked right up and I said "What kind of group? I might want to join". They have been meeting the first Thursday of each month for 10 YEARS. They come from all over and they stamp and laugh and have a good old time. Each girl takes two months and then demos something fun to the rest of the group. So I plan on starting in January (they don't meet in December with the holidays coming up) so I look forward to that. A big shout out to: Patty, Caroline, Glenda, Leslie and Christy!! (Hey do you wonder how I remembered all their names?) Shhh! I wrote down their names on Stampers Alley card so I wouldn't forget. Sneaky huh?

We spent half the day at Western Carolina today

and I am beat!! We left at 7 am, got there at 10:30. Had a tour with 25 others at 11 and the tour lasted till 1:30. We walked around the campus, looked inside a dorm, checked out the dining halls, talked about clubs, and so on. The leaves were absolutelybeautiful right now. It is about 45 min past Asheville and sits down in a valley so they "claim" they don't get much snow. We both liked it alot. The classrooms seem small for the most part, 25 kids per class and there are only 3 lecture classes on the whole campus. Emily wants to major in elementary teaching and if she goes there, she would be a student teacher as early as her sophomore year thru graduation. It seems very laid back and freshmen are allowed to bring their cars for $50 a semester. Early admission is coming up so now she will have to decide if she wants to apply .... will keep ya posted!!!

Digital images

Have you tried digital images yet? I was in complete denial for the longest time and then I discovered Mo's Digital Pencil Shop . That was it, I was hooked!! I love ALL of her drawings that have been made into images.
The first photo is from Mo's Digital stamps and so is the 3rd photo (that's a birthday card for a cat lover). The 2nd ATC I used my bird stamp and I embossed it. I need to emboss more. I have always been afraid to try it. LOL
