Cut it Up Challenge #214 Christmas

This week at Cut it Up, our challenge is Christmas. I used a Sizzix die cut to make the base of the card. and the sentiment is by STAMPlorations. I colored the cute little boy and girl with my Copics and added some glitter to the package and her dress.

I can't wait to see what you make for our Christmas challenge this week and don't forget your die cut!

As you can see, my Christmas tree is up!!

Happy 1st Birthday Evelyn!

It's Thanksgiving here in the US today so Happy Thanksgiving to all my blogging friends who continue to follow me each day!! I want to shout out a big thank you as I am grateful to enjoy this craft as much as I do and share my cards to all of you.  For us, I only cook for my immediate family, so no real changes here but I know a lot of families aren't having their big get togethers like they normally do. I am making a turkey, ham, mashed potatoes, green beans, stuffing, gravy, cranberry sauce, pumpkin pie and apple pie. My fave is the pumpkin pie and I have to make sure I don't eat too much of all the other that I save room for it! LOL

A little paper piecing on this card for my hubby's grandchild who turns 1 next month. We haven't even met her yet in person due to Covid and also due to the fact, they moved to the Boston area with the Coast Guard a few months ago.

Here in the US, Thanksgiving is next Thursday and I am ready for turkey and pumpkin pie!!

Dreaming of a White Christmas

I don't think I have ever had a white Christmas. One year, we had snow flurries on Christmas Eve and I was so excited but they were gone by Christmas Day!!  Of course, growing up in FL, I didn't even see snow until I was 25 years old and moved to NC :).

We Believe in Santa Paws

I sent these dog cards to all of my dog loving friends - I think I made 15. Each one is a little different so if you see them multiple times on my blog, that's why. Some have snowflakes embossed, some don't. Some have a snowman, some don't. I just love this little dog and Christmas tree :).

Ho Ho Ho

I learned how to draw and paint this Santa Claus while taking Kristina Werner's Simply Watercolor Christmas Class a few weeks ago. I wasn't too sure about him it at first but now I love him and have him in my craft room hanging up. I might try to make another one.

Stacked books

This past weekend I went to a Christmas craft show. Vendors were selling these stacked books with names on them. I looked closely and realized they were stamped so I knew I could make these. I came home, watched this you tube video and made these right away. I got the books at Goodwill at a cheap price and even though I had to tear off the covers and the spine, I love the end result. Guess what everyone's getting for the holidays this year!! You can also find them already made on Etsy and they have TONS of them!!

Merry Christmas

I made this background using Kristina Werner's technique by applying not 1, not 2 but 3 layers of watercolors and letting them dry in between. I used from top to bottom black, purple, red, orange and yellow. Snow splatters were done by using a white ink spray by Avery Elle. It's much easier than using a toothbrush and acrylic paint which is how I normally do it and I splatter ink everywhere. This comes in a spray bottle and is wonderful!

Celebrate

I find myself reaching for this stamp and die cut set from Concord & 9th over and over. It's so fun to create and they are always great for color challenges. I plan on making lots of these cards for birthdays for 2021. I love how it stands up and folds perfectly into a regular size envelope.

As You Like It Challenge - His/Hers Birthday (This is my favorite set because it's so versatile and I love how it sits up instead of folds open. It mails flat and then it kind of "pops" out).

Cut It Up Challenge #213 - Be Strong, Be Brave, Be Bold

At Cut It Up this week, our challenge is "Be Strong, Be Brave, Be Bold". I chose this digi image by Christy Croll with Tiddly Inks and I used my Wonky Stitches rectangle die cut by Gina Marie Designs for my die cut. I colored it with my Copic markers. You can find this image free by clicking here.

I can't wait to see what you create and don't forget your die cut!
