I made these books for my godchild for her birthday. I found books at Salvation Army for 49 cents EACH (yes they are real books and I tore the covers off and just stamped on the sides of them). The trick to these are getting books thick enough on the spine so the stamped letters fit and I had taken a strip of paper the width of the spine with letters and held them up to each book. Some books are thinner than others so you have to be careful about that. I also tried to get all the same width books to go together but as you can see here, the bottom one is wider but the hearts fit on it fine. Her kitchen is 50's retro and the ribbon matches her black and white tile in their kitchen.
