You are the Swedish to my fish ...

I am sending this to a very dear friend of mine who's fighting cancer. Many years ago, this friend and I along with 15 other gals went on a wonderful stamping get away and we threw swedish fish at each other and just laughed and laughed. I found the Swedish fish image online and I'm hoping this card will cheer her up! It made me laugh just making the card and remembering the fun times we had that weekend (we've had many fun weekends like that over the years!).

When I first came up with this idea, I thought this stamp from Rubbernecker would be perfect for this card - only I had to put in my own words so I added "Swedish to my fish".

A friend of mine made me this awesome tshirt using her Cameo and I absolutely love it!! I had to make her a thank you card and figured this sloth would do the trick!! I have got to figure out how to do this on my Scan 'n Cut 2. I am pretty sure I can.

Avo' Great Birthday!

This is the card I made Emily this year

26 years ago I had my first baby and I was so excited when out popped a girl who I would name Emily. Happy Birthday to Emily!!

I found this stamp set at Hobby Lobby by Momenta and I think this was supposed to actually be a pear but I colored in the seeds and made it an avocado. I think it works ok. Emily is "obsessed" right now with anything avocados. For her birthday I found her an avocado beach towel and avocado towels for her kitchen! Someone else gave her avocado pj's. LOL

I had to dig out my new Tim Holtz Stamp Platform for this card so the popsicles would line up just right. I've only had this stamp platform for about 2 weeks and I swear, I use it more than my Misty that I've had for a couple of years. I guess because it's bigger than my card size Misty I got.

Cards in Envy - Feeling Blue and Distressed

For the challenge at Cards in Envy this week, we are to make a BLUE card using Distress inks. For my card, I used the oxide inks by Tim Holtz "Salty Ocean". I smeared the ink on a plastic lid, then spritzed with water to get this background effect. I water-colored the dog with Jane Davenport watercolor paints.
