We all survived the prom and lived to tell about it ...
I think all the kids had a wonderful time and we had the prom this year at the Speedway Club at Lowe's Motor Speedway in Concord. 175 seniors came with dates and I think we had a grand total of about 212 kids. I started off the morning by helping to decorate. It was on the 5th floor at the Speedway Club so we decorated the entrance going in and then the whole 5th floor. The theme was Diamonds are Forever and everyone did an AMAZING job decorating!!! After doing that for several hours, then I met up with Emily to get her hair done. It took Amanda an hour and 1/2 to do her hair and it came out beautiful!! I then had to head to one of her friend's houses for pictures. They had a beautiful backyard with a pool and a waterfall. Notice I don't have a single picture in front of the waterfall because we had 20 kids there to take photos of and it was impossible to fit that many in front of that waterfall. After there, we all drove to the Boys & Girls Club where they waited for the limo to arrive. It started to rain just before the limo pulled up so then I wasn't able to get a photo of all of them outside of the limo but I did take 2 inside the limo. These are some of my fave pics I took. They all went to Bravo to eat dinner while I went back home, ate a Lean Cuisine and then back I went to the Speedway Club where I was one of the 20 chaperones. We each had a 2 hour shift and I was supposed to leave at 9:30 but stayed till 10:30 as they hadn't announced the Prom Queen and King yet and Emily was one of the 4 the kids and teachers voted on. Unfortunately she did not win but Emily was happy that Sheree won. I finally collapsed around 12:30 after telling Charlie everything that happened. It was sure a fun night and I got some great pics to share.. I hope you enjoyed the slide show :).

Scrabble necklaces
I have been wanting to try these cute Scrabble necklaces for a long time. I finally did and I think they are so cute. They are super easy to make too!!! You can buy replacement scrabble tiles here (and I think they have free shipping) or use an old Scrabble game you have laying around the house (this is what I did). I also did not use any glossy sealer on the top. I just went over my image with Modge Podge and let it dry. I tried using some Glossy Accents on mine but I think I put it on too thick as it looked really milky. I have made several for Easter, Valentines Day, and I even made one with a spider on it since Emily's school are the Concord Spiders. They make cute gifts!!

Homemade flower soft??????
My friend Chelsea was telling me she learned how to make homemade flower soft so I wanted to try it. Take a white styrofoam ball (I got this package of 2 from Walmart for $3 I think) and a cheese grater. Grate it and put into container. I stamped my image, then added some aileene's glue to the paper where the "snow" would go and add the homemade flower soft. Let dry. I only made white but Chelsea said they were shown how to add color. Put homemade flower soft in a ziplock bag, add a little bit of re-inker ink, shake and set out to dry for a couple of days. I will have to try that next. It was a little on the messy side so I'm not sure its worth it to do it this way but I love trying new techniques, especially easy ones :). Try it and let me know how it works.

Back from FL on spring break ....
I took Emily and a friend to FL for Spring Break. They ran me "ragged" since we only had one car but we all had a good time. The weather was perfect. Not too hot yet and it stayed around 78-80 degrees most days. The girls went to the beach alot so are nice and tan now!! I planted a St. Joseph statue in the yard to help sell the house. We will see if that works!! We also got to see the space shuttle go off at 6:20 am one morning. Sydney woke up for it but Emily would not get up so Sydney saw her first space shuttle "live". This was the last time the space shuttle will ever take off in the dark so I was glad we could see it. (Look closely at the photo with the bird's nest. I "think" I see a pelican in it. I had no idea when I took it but I see it now) I got to meet up with Caryn for lunch at Harry and the Natives. I met Carol and Sherie for lunch at the thai restaurant and we had our favorite sweet and sour soup. Dawn and I met at the bagel restaurant for bagels one morning and Betsey and I met at Toojays for tilapia. While at Toojays the manager came over and gave us this HUGE piece of chocolate cake for free so if I can figure out how I can get the pic off my cell phone, I will do that later. Sherri and I went to Panera Bread for soup one night. I missed seeing Gerry, she was in the Keys for the week and I also missed seeing Jan - they were in on a cruise. I did see Leslie and we chatted for awhile and got "caught up". We were busy, busy, busy!!!
On the way back we stopped at UNCP for their open house. There were about 1,000 people there so it was very crowded. It is the PERFECT school for Emily. She just has to decide whether or not she wants to go there. The whole school is only 6,000 kids. 14:0 class ratio (PERFECT!). 2 hours from home. What more could a girl want? :) Here are some pics I took on vacation.

Ellie's birthday
I made this for Ellie's birthday. She and her sister Patty both love to knit so when I saw this free digital stamp, I knew right away it would be perfect for Ellie :). I used real cording on the card. I hope she likes it.
