2 weeks ago I found out one of my very dear friends has dementia. She's 53 years young. 53!!  I made this card for her to cheer her up. I hope it does the trick!!

I stamped the flamingos in pink ink, doing the no-line coloring technique. No-line coloring = means you don't use black ink to stamp your image in. You use a lighter ink, therefore, you don't see a line and then you color your image with whatever color you want. These flamingos I stamped in a very light pink ink and then I watercolored them in a darker shade of pink (Spectrum Aqua markers). I made a mask for the sunset and then watercolored around the sun using Tim Holtz distress inks. I sponged the sun using TH distress inks too.

I just got this cloud stamp by Unity Stamps from my good friend Angie and when I saw this challenge I knew I had to ink it up and use it. What would I put with it?  A llama, of course! LOL I colored the llama using my Tombow markers and water.

So this past weekend I decided to organize my stamps, my dies, and my embossing folders. I have tried downloading it all onto the Evernote app in the past and got NOWHERE.  Well, I actually found a very helpful you tube video right here. And she made it super simple and I got a lot entered. Now I need to add my ink pads, markers, watercolor paints, and I will be all set :).

Being sick just stinks

I am sending this to a friend who recently fell and broke her wrist. I'm writing on the inside "Having your hand in a splint just stinks" but didn't have that saying in a stamp. LOL  Her cat is multi-colored so I tried doing it in 2 different grays.

Stamping on acetate

It's not often I stamp on acetate but when I saw this challenge at Little Red Wagon, I had to try it. I used Staz-On ink to stamp the flower and the sentiment with. Then I colored it with my Copics and let it dry.  What do you think?

I love everything watercolor. So this week when I saw a you tube video on these Spectrum Aqua markers, I knew I had to have them. They come in 4 sets and my Hobby Lobby only carries 2 of the 4 sets. I bought one set, tried them out, then went back and got the 2nd set. Now I want the last 2 sets. I have to have all 48 colors, right?  They are very similar to Tim Holtz watercolor markers since they have a fine tip on one tip and a coloring tip on the other end.

I colored the marker onto my craft sheet and then dipped a watercolor brush in water and colored this image. I added some washi tape to the top of the card and voila, all done!! Easy peasy!

This dog set is the newest dog set from Hero Arts. I made this for a friend who I haven't seen in a few months. Before putting the embossing folder through my Big Kick machine, I rubbed distress ink on top (3 different colors) and then put it through the machine. I really like this effect.

Sometimes I struggle making masculine cards. This beach scene is perfect for a man's card. I stamped it onto watercolor paper, then sponged some Tim Holtz blue ink onto it. I made a mask for the sunrise and inked that up with yellow and orange ink. For the sentiment, I embossed the saying onto black cardstock and used white embossing powder. I am going to give this to my daughter's boyfriend who turns 26 in a couple of months.

Congratulations Graduate!

I have LOTS of washi tape and I love to use it on my envelopes before I mail my card.  For some reason, I struggle when it comes to putting it on a card.  When I saw this washi tape challenge, I had to make something. I know it's a bit early to think "graduation" but I do have a godchild graduating this year from high school so I thought why not make it now.

Keep your face to the sunshine

4 years ago next week, we lost my husband's daughter to "sepsis". It was a shock to our whole family as it just happened so fast and out of the blue. She left behind a daughter and a son and I am sending this card to her daughter Amber. It's always a rough week for us each year and we miss her so much!!

I saw a card using this stamp and I was determined to find it, as it had retired. I found it on Ebay and I had to buy it. I've had it for a couple of years but always had a tough time getting a good crisp image. It's a clear stamp set so it just doesn't stamp that great UNTIL I tried it with Versafine ink. I had to touch up the bottom a little bit with a black Copic marker but I don't even see that I did it.

I hope this card brings a smile to Amber's face :).

Sympathy card

I always have a hard time coming up with sympathy cards. I actually CASED this card from this blog, because I really loved how it came out. I just decided to make mine a sympathy card. What do you think? Does it need anything else?

For the blue monochrome look, I inked up my Tombow markers and colored directly onto an acrylic block (using 3 different blues), sprayed with water and inked directly onto the watercolor paper. Let it dry before I stamped my birds.
