Let it Snow

I saw this snowman card at Splitcoast and had to CASE it :). You can see the original card here. I used my circle dies by Spellbinders to build the snowman and I cut them all in 1 swipe to get the rings like this instead of  getting big circle cut-outs. I trimmed the thicker circles even thinner and glued it all down. I cut the black hat and carrot free-hand. Added washi tape to his hat. I think I may be making more of these.

CAS Colours & Sketch Challenge #385

This is my last sketch at CAS Colours & Sketches as a Guest Designer for the month of August and it's been a lot of fun these past 4 weeks. I've had this ice cream stamp for awhile by Whipper Snapper and not sure I have ever inked him up. Isn't he cute? I colored him with copic markers.

Cut It Up Challenge #207 - Old School

This week at Cut It Up, our challenge is Old School - Use old products/embellishments that you haven't used in awhile.  For me, I used the awesome bird die cut by Stamplorations and I used my Taylored Expressions circle die to sponge on my Catherine Pooler inks. The Happy Birthday die cut is by Lawn Fawn and I never use it because its too large to fit onto a card (unless I turn the card sideways, then it fits fine) but I remembered I can cut it half, and use it that way to fit. I think that Happy Birthday die cut I have had since I started stamping!!

I am sending this to a friend's daughter who started 7th grade this year. I'm a little late sending it since she started back in Colorado this week but she'll get it hopefully in a few days. I send her a card every year and I really don't have any "back to school" stamps that aren't too childish so I decided to send this card instead :).

CAS Colours & Sketches Challenge #384

I love this color combo that CAS Colours & Sketches picked out this week and I dug out this Halloween image by Technique Junkies. I used Copic colors BG10 Cool Shadow, V20 Wisteria and Y17 Golden Yellow. I used my new die cut by Gina Marie Designs. I actually bought this stamp last Fall at the stamp convention in Pigeon Forge, TN. It's only a 4 hr drive for me and I really had a great time. As of right now, the show for this year is still planning on happening on October 17-18. They are requiring everyone to wear masks and social distance and will be taking extra precautions.  ALL arts and crafts shows here in NC have been cancelled through the end of the year!!

My godchild got engaged this past weekend. She has been dating her best friend for 6 years so I am so happy for them!! He asked her on the beach down on Wrightsville Beach so I thought it was only fitting to get out my Hero Arts beach scene stamps and make a card. On this challenge, its "finish the inside" so I took a pic of the inside of the card too. I love how this looks, I really need to "finish the card" more often. Do you do that with your cards? I just stamp a sentiment and sign "Love Sherri.

Love Live Snail Mail

I love this stamp and die set by Concord & 9th. I need to make more of these "surprise" cards.

I did some research on the double spacing on blogger and I found a temporary fix. After the end of each sentence before moving onto the next sentence, press "Shift+Enter" and it makes it go to single space. I just need to remember to do it each time. Now this paragraph is fine because I am constantly typing but if you intentionally want to go from double to single space between each line, you have to hit shift and enter at the same time and it does work.

I watched this video at Taylored Expressions how she used their sentiments on the balloon die cuts so I tried that on a different card (in another post) and used washi tape on these balloons for this challenge. I know who I am sending this to for a friend's birthday next month.

Happy Birthday gnome on a swing

It has been a LONG time since I got out my watercolors and made a card. I have been using my Copics markers the past few months but I decided to pull out my Jane Davenport watercolor paints and make this card. This is another gnome I got from Joann's.com when they had a sale a few weeks ago and I thought I would try it with this challenge. I cut out 3 holes using my spellbinders circle die cuts and then cut out a 2nd circle all the way down and fit my little sentiments in them. I also found these sentiments by Hero Arts on sale too. I think I am going to have fun with this gnome in the days ahead :).

You're Chimply the Best!

So yesterday, we had a bit of excitement in NC. Around 8 am, we had a 5.1 earthquake hit on the NC/VA state line. We live about 90 miles from Sparta, NC which is about a hour and 45 minute drive from here. We felt it all the way here and so did people down in SC and even GA. I was out walking like I do each morning and felt NOTHING but hubby said he felt it and went outside to see if something had fallen on the house. It's been since 1916 since we've had an earthquake of that magnitude here so it was all over the local news. We may even feel some aftershocks over the next few days so I will be on the lookout for those.

How cute is this elephant? I decided to paper piece him with this striped paper. Sending this to my chemo pal who loves monkeys :).
