I don't play with my ZIG watercolor markers enough. Why? I don't know because I do like them. On this card, I smeared some ink onto an acrylic block, then dabbed a paintbrush into some water and then back into the smeared ink and put it on the paper. Easy peasy!! This flamingo kind of looks funny going down a waterfall or something. LOL

Use a Spray Challenge at Back to Basics and Beyond

This week's challenge at Back to Basics and Beyond is Use a Spray. I decided to use my Tim Holtz Distress Resist Spray. I first set my stencil down on my watercolor cardstock and I sprayed the distress resist spray on top (spray in a box as it tends to get everywhere). I let it dry and then I used my Tim Holtz Oxide inks on it and let those dry. I thought this background was perfect to go with this mermaid set I got from Stampabilities at Hobby Lobby. In some videos I saw where you should rub off the colors using a baby wipe but when I did that, I didn't like that as well as this one so I kept this one "as is". I did watch this you tube video that shows how to use the distress resist spray.

Back to Basics and Beyond - Use a Spray (ink, bleach, mica pearls, etc)

1.2.3 card challenge for Back to Basics and Beyond

For the Back to Basics and Beyond card challenge this week, we are making a 1.2.3 card. That means you are to use 1 stamped image, 2 colors and 3 gems/jewels/pearls. I got out my Impression Obsession Blue Footed Booby image and stamped him onto watercolor paper. I watercolored him using my Jane Davenport paints. For my gems, I didn't actually have any so I used Nuvo drops (Caribbean Ocean color). He's so cute, don't you agree?
