Stamping on a rock

I recently found a hidden rock at a free library stand and I joined the facebook group where the person who hid the rock was from. I used stazon ink to stamp my image onto the rock and then colored it with acrylic paints (which I already had in my stash). Its fun hiding them and seeing if anyone in your group finds them.

Christmas in July

Christmas in July - sure, why not?!  I got this digital image from Sassy Cheryl yesterday (as she has a sale going on!) and I made it into a slider card. I had to use a special transparency to go through my printer but it worked and I am so excited it did!!  I can start making cards now with my digis I have on hand since I am limited to actual rubber or clear stamps I can use to fit into that small window on the slider card.

Stamping on rocks

So I went to the park yesterday to drop off some books at the Free library box and I found my very first painted rock. I decided to paint a few rocks and then I will hide them around for others to find it. I just stamped mine with stazon ink and then colored it with acrylic paints and let it dry. I had to do a few coats but I think it came out good. I then sprayed it with clear spray to seal it in case it gets wet in the rain. Not sure where I will hide it yet.

Wherever the Road Takes You ...

I have several friends who have RV's and I made a card using this Taylored Expressions set. I stamped the car with the Christmas tree onto watercolor cardstock, then I masked around the car before I stamped the RV next to it. I masked everything and then colored the background using my Tim Holtz Oxide inks. Sprinkled a little water on top and blotted dry to get the little water specs. I colored the images using my Tombow markers and then I added the striped washi tape to make a "road".

I made this card a few days ago and then decided I wonder what it would like on a rock so I stamped it, colored it and I think it's pretty cute!!

Goat slider card

Of all the slider cards I've made recently, this one is my favorite. I love this goat set by Art Impressions. It made the perfect birthday card for my friend Jacque in California who has lots of goats. Magic slider card die is by Lawn Fawn and it is super easy to make using that specific die.

Thinking of You

The new Tim Holtz Oxide inks really make blending ink on paper so easy!!!  And the little white drops that you see are just droplets of water and then dabbed dry with a paper towel. I could never get the regular distress inks to do this, this easily. So I LOVE the Oxide inks and I now have 10 of the colors.

This snowman rocks it!

So I saw a rock that was stamped and painted online and I had to try it.  I went for my walk and looked high and low for rocks. NONE were smooth enough to stamp on so off to Home Depot we went. We got this huge bag of rocks for $13 and I stamped this Purple Onion Designs snowman onto the rock using Stazon ink. It dried pretty quickly. I then used my acrylic inks to paint the colors on and that took a little while to dry. After it dried, I went around the black edges with a zip marker. My sharpie marker was too thick but I think that would've worked too.  Everyone might be getting a snowman rock for Christmas this year :).

Cards in Envy - Patriotic Please - Red/White/Blue

I'm excited to be the Guest Designer for the red/white/blue challenge on the Cards in Envy blog. Here is my entry:

I got this stamp set last year at the Heirloom Stamp Show in W. Springfield, MA.

It's still one of my favorite stamp sets. I remember eating these red/white/blue

"firecacker" ice pops when I was a kid. This stamp set is by North Coast Creations.

I colored it with copic markers. I used "Sun and Moon" glaze on it

and I used glitter from Stampin' Up. I inked all around the edges with Stampin'

Up Watermelon Wonder ink.
