My mother is wanting to know what some of the suggestions have been for the farm

so I thought I would post them here for all to see:

Thacker Farm, Thacker Place, Down on the Farm, Animal Farm (if you had some),Green Acres, Hobe Sound North, Little Lost Farm, Charles Thacker Farm, Flip Flop Farm, Thacker Acres, Rancho Thackero, Double F Farm (F standing for Flip Flops), No Worries Farm, Thacker Dreams, Thackers Knoll, Thacker Hill, Thacker Hollow, Welcome Home Farm, No Name Farm, No Name Thacker Place, Slice of Heaven, Rolling Meadows (Sounds like a cemetary), Hill Side ....

Thanks to everyone who has given us their idea but Charlie is still waiting for the "perfect name" as he puts it... We're still thinking ....

Wednesday, March 28, 2007

I have run all the farm name suggestions by Charlie and so far,

nothing is grabbing him... so we're still thinking of more names.

Today was the 3rd day in a row we've had above 83 degree temps!! The pollen is so bad right now everyone is having major allergy problems. We need rain and I think we're getting some tomorrow and its expected to be 30 degrees cooler tomorrow. So at least summer isn't here to stay, yet!!

I am meeting Robin, Lorraine and Mary for breakfast tomorrow at IHOP. Haven't been there in ages. Think I will get my chocolate chip pancakes with chocolate milk (Charlie gets grossed out when I do that so early in the morning! ha ha)

More later ...

We need to come up with a name for our farm .... Can you help us?

We cannot think of a name for our "farm". Alapaca Thacka will not fly with Charlie. I personally love it but we don't have alpacas or any animals for that matter so the name cannot have an animal in it since we still don't know what and/or IF we are going to get any animals. So if you could please please help us name our farm, that would be awesome!! Something catchy? Something fun? Anything??????

Emily was back playing soccer tonight

It was her first day back at playing since she hurt her mouth. She is feeling much better and can almost open her mouth all the way again plus she is able to eat alot better, thank goodness.

Spring has sprung in full force here in the Carolinas. Everywhere you look, flowers are in full bloom. We've had really warm days lately, it was 87 degrees yesterday. What happened to Spring? Has summer gotten here already? Charlie & I decided to tackle pressure washing the white fence around the yard. We got alot done but alot more needs to be done. We also pressure washed the front porch and all the white chairs and swing :). It sure looks alot better!!

Ok, I have had these llamas on my blog for 3 days and no idea they can be fed hay!!

LOL How funny is that? I was chatting with Sarah (Loobylou from Australia) this morning and she commented she had fed my llamas. I was shocked. What?! I need to feed them! So if you haven't fed them hay yet, they need LOTS of hay so just click on the more button and you can feed them hay! ha ha Also, if you click on the animals themselves, they make a little sound and i just found that out too. Too funny!! I think these are the best kind of llamas to have!! Virtual llamas :)

Thursday, March 22, 2007

Angie sent me this website saying I needed these llamas

Aren't they cute? If you move your mouse over them, they move to your mouse. LOL

In case you want to adopt your very own animal for your blog, here is the website:

Have fun with it!

Finally the Concord Spiders won a soccer game!!

Concord Spiders 3
Kannapolis 1

WOO HOO!!!! Finally, we won a game!!! Of course, Ms Emily had to sit the game out since her mouth is still healing but it was exciting to watch them score some goals. Next game is Monday night, its away. I expect Emily will play in that one.

I went into volunteer today in the kindergarten class and the teachers

were so thoughtful and got me a "little something" just for being a great volunteer. Out of all the YEARS I volunteered at the school in FL, I am not sure any teacher ever got me anything ... anyway, it is a Yankee Candle and the scent is "Island Mango". I brought it home and burned it right away. Mmmmmm! It smells yummy!! It was such a wonderful surprise!!!

I signed up Emily to start Drivers Ed mid-April. She will have 30 classroom hours for 5 Saturdays in a row, 8am-2pm. Then she will have to have 6 hours of driving time!! This is all BEFORE she turns 15. She turns 15 on June 25th and that is the day she wants to go get her Learners Permit. Heaven help us all!! I am not sure I am ready for all this!!! She will have her permit for 1 full year so this time next year I will be even more of a nervous wreck thinking it will soon be time for her to get her DRIVERS LICENSE. Oh my. Then what?!?!??!?!?!

Emily's mouth isn't hurting as bad as it was. Her canker sores are still there but she is rinsing with 2 different medicines so between those, let's hope they knock them out of her mouth. Poor thing hasn't eaten in over a week. At least not much anyway.

I went to lunch with Linda today. We went shopping at Kohls and Old Navy first. I got Nicholas some shorts since we're getting up in the 70's this week. I bought size 16!!! What happened to size 14? We seemed to have skip it. LOL Anyway, after there, we went to eat at Zaxby's. Its a chicken fast food place and I love their grilled cheese :).

Back from the ortho surgeon with Emily ...

Thank god nothing is broken or fractured. He took an xray and said her jaw just has a contrusion and it will heal on its own in 3-4 weeks. She is to miss soccer all this week and eat soft foods till it feels better. By looking at her xrays, we also discovered her 4 wisdom teeth are coming in and those NEED to come OUT soon so I was going to schedule that for Spring Break but now I think we'll do it in June when school is out. So her jaw is killing her from the soccer kick in the face, her wisdom teeth are killing her because they are poking through and she has 3 canker sores in her mouth that are killing her too. Poor thing!! He gave us a prescription for 600 mg motrin to help with the inflammation.

We also woke up to frost again this morning. It was 28 degrees when i took the kids to school so frost EVERYWHERE. Let's hope this is the last of it until next winter.

First day of Spring is tomorrow. WOO HOO. I am ready to put away my winter clothes and drag out the flip flops, shorts, tank tops, bikini ... oh wait, let's hold off on that bikini for a bit! ha ha

Sunday ... already????

Where did the weekend go? Did you wear your green yesterday for St. Patty's Day? I had my green shirt on with my jeans and green crocs and was quite comfy! :)

It was a pretty quiet weekend around here. I am going to call the ortho dr tomorrow for Emily's mouth. It still hurts her when she tries to open it or when she eats. She has been eating soft foods for the most part. So let's hope its nothing more than a bruised jaw or something!!

I've been making more 3x3 cards. In fact I am loving these little cards. They go together so quick!!

Well, that's all for now. I will report back when I find out more from the mouth dr.

I have added a new music link

http://www.loudfusion.com/ if you want to be like me .... Ha ha This allows you to pick your songs you want to play on your blog and I have picked country songs which I know my mom likes (and i do too) and popular songs (which i also like and I know Suzi likes, she does not like country music). So let me know what you think of my new songs I just added to the side. It was actually pretty easy to follow :).

I got the cutest surprise in the mail today. Check out his photo to the right.

My friend Chris in Michigan surprised me with the cutest moose!! It is so cute. It has a stampaholic tshirt on and a stamp in 1 hand. Is that me or what? :) Of course, she is a stampaholic too. She is on the Stamp Shack website with me and we have met once in person in Greensboro at the stamp convention there. She recently moved into a new house and has been offline for at least a month although it seems like a year!! Chris, thank you so much for the adorable moose and I hope you get hooked up to the internet real soon. We miss your funny notes!!!

I have been busy volunteering alot this week. I helped at the high school on Tuesday - they don't need me that often but it was 10th grade writing testing and they need proctors so I went in to help for that. Yesterday and today I helped the kindergartners write sentences. Some can do it great and some have no idea how to put the words down on paper to make a sentence. Its so cute how they try and spell out their words by sounding out every single letter :).

We are having beautiful 80 degree weather this week and we've all been in shorts and flip flops. Unfortunately its not here to stay as we are dipping back down into the 30's this weekend but it sure has been nice!! Some of my flowers are starting to bloom too and the whole city of Charlotte just is many many colors with all the pretty flowers blooming all over!!! We didn't see this in Florida :).

How is it Tuesday already?

I haven't posted since Sunday, how did that happen? Last night Emily had a home soccer game and she accidentally got hit by the ball in the chin!! Ouch!! She was a trooper though and stayed in the game and it was sore this morning when she ate breakfast but its already doing much better. I was worried her jaw might be broken. She had soccer practice today after school then had to go to tumbling and seems to be doing good now.

How do you like my Happy St. Patty's Day dancing girl? I couldn't sleep last night and somehow came across this cute website: http://www.meez.com/home.dm.

Did you all see my FANTASTIC FLIP FLOP border?????

Isn't it the best???? My wonderful friend Angie did that for me. She is just the sweetest!!! I just love it. Thank you so much Angie and I want everyone to leave comments for Angie and tell her how fabulous it looks.... I just love it!!! Woo hoo!!!!!

Sunday ....

Charlie's birthday was yesterday so we had everyone over the day. It was great to see everybody. Yesterday was also Concord High School's chance to go to the Basketball Finals in Raleigh and they won the state championship in their division. Go Spiders!!! (They had won the football title in January!)

Nicholas has a project coming up about WW 2 and he has to interview someone who was alive during that time. We called "grandma Thacker" and he asked her a bunch of questions so he has a pretty good head start on his report. She remembered quite a bit. She was 18 years old when WW2 started.

Nicholas and I went to see the movie "Wild Hogs". LOVED IT! It was so funny!!! John Travolta was just great in it!! I laughed through the whole thing! Go see it!!

My crocus are blooming out by the front. They are so tiny I nearly missed them! We planted white ones and purple ones. I took a photo of each :).

I forgot to tell you all about our chickens ...

Actually they won't be "our" chickens but they will be in our barn. Our next door neighbor who is who we bought our house from and they have since built next door to us is dying to have some chickens so he can have some fresh eggs. We have a chicken coop down by the barn and its just got 1 rooster in it so he called yesterday asking if he bought some chickens could he put them down there. He will do everything, take care of everything so we said yes. We have no idea when these chickens will be coming but my bet is this weekend before Charlie changes his mind! ha ha

As far as the alpacas go, we have decided for now NOT to get any. We have been hearing reports of coyotes being seen in the area so I don't think it would be smart to invest all this $$ in these expensive animals only to have them eaten by a coyote :(. So we are still looking into a pair of llamas but haven't made any decisions yet. They are MUCH CHEAPER than alpacas. At least they are "doable".

We have soccer in about an hour so I better get Emily to that...

For those of you who do not know the 80's song Super Freak

click on my little play button on the right where the music is.... I LOVED this song when I was a teenager. LOL Now tell me if you recognize it :). And I apologize now if you all sing it for the rest of the day. ha ha

Anyway, we all got new cell phones yesterday and this is my ring tone - Super Freak :). I got a Sprint "Fusic" and so far I really like it. It came with 4 face plates all different colors that I can change. Now mine is fusia pink. Love pink!!

Charlie's birthday is tomorrow so everyone is coming over for the day. I got a cake at Sams and I am making spaghetti and lasagna for dinner (since we're expecting a house full).

Well, that's it for now ... Enjoy the Super Freak song :).

Both Nicholas & I went to the dentist today ...

I had to go for a teeth cleaning that I had to cancel about a month ago when I had gotten that stomach virus. Nicholas had to go to get sealants put on his 12 yo molars so he should be all set. He has not had a cavity yet and I wonder if these sealants have helped any!!

Emily had her 3rd soccer game. They lost 5-0. She came SO CLOSE to making a goal but the goalie caught it and she jumped OVER her! LOL

Tomorrow I volunteer with the kindergarten class. Now when I show up, they all raise their hand and hope that I pick on them. They are so cute!! I usually take turns with alot of them depending on what Mrs. Scott has me doing that day.

We're looking at getting new cell phones. Mine is dying half the time, Charlie's is cutting off too. Nicholas' went through the washer a long time ago and Emily just wants a NEWER phone! LOL We went to Sprint and as usual we got a new lady that didn't even have a password to sign into her computer so we knew right then, she would not be able to help us (which she did not so we just left).

Well, everyone else is fast asleep so i better go do the same before tomorrow morning gets here sooner than I think :). Ha

PS How do you like my Flip Flop for Dummies book? :)

And the winner of my 1st contest is ....

Barb (GrammaStamper). WOO HOO Barb. Love the poem you wrote and ANYONE who says I look "20" again must take home this prize!! ha ha Thanks everyone for the kind words. I just wish I felt the same. I am still trying very hard to get used to this new color so we'll see how long it takes. Barb, I will mail your goodies out in a day or two :) so be on the lookout.

I am going to hold my first contest ....

This is for Stamp Shack members only. Since I am so unsure about my hair, how about make my day and say something about my new hair color. The winner, picked by me of course, will get some "Friend" cuttlebug embossed images. Christie was nice enough to send them to me and I had went ahead and bought the actual Friends folder itself so I thought I would pass these along to someone else who wants them. They are all different colors, purple, orange, yellow .. so come on, who wants to tell me in their own words how my hair looks. It can be funny or serious ... Let's have fun with it :). I will pick the winner on Wednesday morning :). Sherri

What? A brunette is in the Thacker house now??

I went to get my hair highlighted today and I wanted to do something different but wasn't sure what. I was going to get it cut real short then changed my mind at the last minute. Well, I told her I was wanting it a bit darker and she agreed so here it is .... boy is it ever dark. I am not sure I like it. I think it will take a few days to get used to it. I haven't been "not blonde" in like 25 years!!! So let's see how long it takes me to get used to this color ... Charlie isn't sure about it. Nicholas said its ugly. Emily surprisingly likes it and said it makes me look younger. Woo hoo on that comment!! I can always look younger :). Tell me what you all think and please don't be too harsh! ha ha

Happy Monday Morning!

I hope everyone had a good weekend. We didn't do a whole lot. Emily had soccer practice on Saturday and only 7 girls showed up so they ended up helping the coach spray paint the lines on the field since the lines had washed away the night before. I haven't looked at the lines but I can only imagine they aren't that straight! LOL (let 7 giggly girls spray paint lines? What was she thinking? LOL)

Yesterday I took Emily shopping for what she calls "skinny jeans". I was like "What are skinny jeans?" Where have i been she asked? They are jeans that are skinny at the bottom. I don't think I have any of those for myself so how would I know that? Anyway, we found 1 pair in a size 14 SLIM. Imagine that!! Most of her friends are probably wearing 5-7 juniors by now. All the stores are getting their bathing suits out already. That's quite depressing!! Guess I really NEED to start walking NOW if I am getting in mine anytime this summer!!! Ha ha (Now that is a scary thought!!!)

Today I am getting my hair highlighted or colored. Not sure which I am doing yet - I just know I have too much gray in my hair and it needs to be GONE!!

We have Charlie's birthday this coming weekend so we'll have family over for the day on Saturday. That's all for now ...

Friday, March 2, 2007

We got about 3" of rain last night and I took photos of the farm down the street from us ...

The water is so high I just had to take photos first thing this morning. That is usually all grass and now it looks like waterfront property. There is a creek near it so it looks like it has overflowed. Came awfully close to that barn and all the animals they have. I don't even see Humphrey the camel anywhere around. I wonder where he is?!

Happy March 1st!!

Can't believe its March 1st already. Did you know Christmas is only in 298 days? LOL (its true)

I did a poll to see if my music should stay or go and it was an equal mix so for now, I still have it on there but you have to hit the "play" button if you want to hear it. How's that???? I will try and change it every few days (for those of you who check my blog every single day!).

Emily's soccer game was cancelled tonight due to rain which is fine by me. Tonight is a great TV night so I don't want to miss any of my favorite shows.

Nothing too else is exciting at the moment so this will be a short note :)
