Happy New Year!

I made this for a friend down in FL who sent me a Christmas card and I had not sent her one. I've had this stamp for awhile and decided to ink it up :).

Recycle your calendars into envelopes

The week between Christmas and New Years, I recycle my old calendars into envelopes. I have several envelope templates but I like this one the best. Aren't they cute?

And some more snowy pics ....

We did have a white Christmas this year even though it didn't start snowing until 8 pm

last night. We woke up this morning to LOTS of the white stuff all around. I would say we have about 5-6". Charlie and I had fun sledding with the kids.

A book of my passwords

** ***I was on Splitcoast last night when I came across this great idea. Linda made her a book of passwords. I have mine written down in all different places so I had to make myself one. This went together real fast and I think it came out cute.

Could we have a white Christmas??

All the talk around Charlotte is YES WE CAN. Some say 4-6", some say 12" and some say just a dusting. So we have to wait and see. Its only snowed twice on Christmas Day here but we've had snow flurries 7 times. I have never had a white Christmas so I would love one :).

I also started Weight Watchers (WW) 2 weeks ago and I've lost 7 pounds!! WOO HOO!!!!

Calendars for Christmas

I sometimes give calendars to people for Christmas and I usually start them in September/October. I try and make a different kind each year so when I came across these cute calendars made at this blog, I knew I wanted to do something similar. The final size of this calendar is 4 1/4 x 5 1/2. I also saw them here at Stamping Scoops.

To make the easel part so you can stand it up on your desk, I followed what Julie did here on her 2009 calendar. It was really easy to put together. Then I used my bind-it-all for the binding at the top.
Cute huh????? (I added our birthdays to my own calendar)

I was surprised when my free copy of Just Cards came in the mail yesterday

I haven't submitted a card for at least a year or more so when this anniversary issue came to the house, I knew I must have a card or two in it. I have 2 cards in on pages 21 and 41. I really enjoy getting these free magazines so my goal for the new year is to submit more cards :).

How about a swing or flip flop card?

I was on Splitcoast and found this neat tutorial by Beate and she shows you step by step how to make this swing or flip flop card. Its real easy if you follow her instructions. I made this for someone having a birthday in January. Hmmm, who is it for? And since its a cold icy day outside, I think I will make a few and have them on hand :). Digital stamps by Bugaboo Stamps.

Cupcakes are calorie-free on your birthday!

I love this image from Bugaboo Stamps and I thought Joanie would too!! :) I used a little stickles on the cupcakes and a little glaze on her glasses.

This morning I was going through my favorite blogs and Anna had this great idea on her blog where she posted her favorite Christmas decorations on her blog and I thought I would post my favorite snowmen ornaments first, then post my other favorites tomorrow.
