Time to get a new car

It was time to say goodbye to my 2010 Honda Accord. It was a great car (I've had 4 Honda's over the years) and it had 142,000 miles on it when I traded it in. I test drove a 2017 Honda Accord, a 2016 Jeep Renegade and I think one other car.  This is the car I decided on .... a 2016 Kia Optima SXL. I love it. It has heated seats, a/c heats, heated steering wheel, extra large sunroof, shift paddles (so I can pretend I have a stick shift like I did when I was 18). LOL  I love it!!!!

This is what I got:

I love the extra large sunroof!!

This weekend we celebrated Amber & Logan at their bridal shower. It was a lot of fun and they got a lot of great gifts. The big wedding is only 49 days away!!

I made these candy corn jars to hold the plastic ware. Got the idea from Pinterest.

Happy Birthday Mary!

I love this birthday girl stamp from Unity Stamps. The "Count Your Blessings" stamp is by: Technique Junkies. It was an easy card to create. I stamped the girl onto watercolor paper, then I used my Koi watercolors and painted each color using my paintbrush (letting it dry before adding the next color) over the girl and present. Added a few star sequin up at the top.

2017 Calendar

I made my friend Lorraine a 2017 calendar for her birthday which is this week. These sheets are all 4x6. I used all different stamp companies. Alot of them are my favorite stamps from all the years I've been stamping!

I got the frame from Kohls and I like how she can just change each month on the clip.

I hope she loves it!!

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Fun Stampers Journey is collecting breast cancer cards the month of October and I made these using my 2 sets I have from Flourishes and Amuse Studio.  The stamp set from Amuse Studio can bought here. Its FREE and all you have to do is pay $3.00 shipping. What a deal!!! I think the Flourishes stamp set has retired. I'll be mailing my cards to Fun Stampers Journey this week.

PP317 Challenge - Leaf

I have made a few of these leaf cards using real leaves from my yard. It was real simple. I took a leaf and I inked the leaf using Memento Inks (Ladybug Red, Tangelo Orange, Dandelion Yellow and Bamboo Leaves Green). I put it through my Big Kick and smashed the color onto it. It came out looking a real leaf (which of course it is!). lol  I had learned this technique from another challenge a few months ago and I really like how simple it is.

So this is my card for the PP317 challenge for The Paper Players

I colored these postcards

I colored these postcards (found at Michael's) using my Tombow markers ....

Unity Sketch

I decided to enter Unity's challenge this week and this is the sketch. (Sorry for the grainy picture but I took a pic of the sketch and it didn't come out so great).

So this is what I decided to do. I wanted to use this awesome washi tape I found at Hobby Lobby. But to use this tape and have it read the correct way, I had to flip the card and this is what I came up with. All stamps by Unity Stamps. The purple cardstock and the purple ink for the sentiment are by Brutus Monroe. The purple is actually called "Aubergine". I really like that color purple!!

Giving back to those in need in Pembroke and Lumberton

I haven't felt like making cards this week at all.  With all the flooding going on so close to home (I'm in NC) from Hurricane Matthew, I went through all my clothes and decided to donate a bunch of my clothes (that no longer fit) to some of the women in Pembroke. Emily went to college there for 4 years and she still knows people who live there.  Charlie also went through his closet so we have quite a bit going to those who need it. Its so sad watching the news.

I also had Kohls cash and I went and bought some baby and kid's clothes to donate as well. I got a lot of great bargains.

Another llama birthday card

Llama stamp and verse by My Favorite Things

I watched this you tube video by Jennifer McGuire and I thought this looks so easy. Since I have the mini Misty and I never use it, I decided to dig it out and it worked great for this card. I am loving this llama set by My Favorite Things ....

Coloring with crayons and pencils

I took a coloring class at Betty's Creative Studio in Greensboro 2 weeks ago and it was all about Prismacolor pencils, Caren D'Ache pencils and Caren D'Ache crayons. The Prismacolor pencils I have used before and I just don't love them. The Caren D'Ache crayons and pencils are very creamy and go on like "butter". They are a little pricy but I bought a handful of each in different colors just to see how I like them. We got 2 of each FREE in our class so I bought a few more. I love my watercoloring with paints at the moment but wanted something different to try.

A Victorian house card

I picked up this Victorian house stamp set at Stampers Alley last week and I just love it.

I followed this video by Art Impressions and I love how it came out.

Some get well cards

I had to send out some get well cards this weekend and I used my Art Impressions stamps. I love these stamps!!  I got a brand new one (Victorian house) that I want to get stamped and I hope to show you that in a day or two. We've had lots of rain for 2 days from Hurricane Matthew so I have time to play with my stamps.  I'm so glad Hobe Sound was spared the brunt of the storm. We lived there about 10 years ago. Has it really been that long?

The Paper Players Challenge #315

I made this card for The Paper Players card challenge this week. You can see it here.

I love this witch by Stampendous. I found this stamp set at Michael's. I made my own sentiment on the computer so I added that to the cute Lawn Fawn plaid paper :).
