When school was cancelled the other day for the flooding,
the kids were jumping up and down with joy. I'm sure you can picture it now. HA Well, last night we got the dreaded call that they have to make up the lost day. When? NEXT SATURDAY. Yes, on a Saturday. Both kids were like "What? On a Saturday?" Its just a half a day which I said "Well, that's better than a full day on Christmas break which is what is what was considered at first." So both kids will be going on school next Saturday whether they like it or not. NOT!!!

Ewww, that's just MEAN!!! Our district has never done anything like that. We just make them up at the end of the year. I guess if you don't have many "snow days" (or flood days in this case) you don't build them into the schedule like we do. Still, it sucks to go to school on a Saturday!
wow! I have never heard of such a thing! That's crazy!
Wow- Saturday school? That would seem harsh if I was a kid. But now trading 1/2 day for a full day thats something I can get into. Bet it was nice to have a 1/2 day on Saturday to yourself!
What? Saturday? Wow, that's different. Well, get it over and one with early in the school year. spartymom
