Some thank you's to the firefighters

For the month of February, Cards for a Cause at Splitcoast Stampers is for the fightfighters and their families - they need thank you cards and encouragement cards. I plan on sending about a dozen. This is what I've made so far.

I car-rot a lot about you!

I know it's a little early for an Easter card but I just downloaded these cute bunnies from Sassy Cheryl's (she recently closed her shop) and I couldn't wait to color them up.

I colored it with my copic markers then I tried my hand at using colored pencils on top of the copic markers which I learned from Kathy's' online coloring road trip challenge. I have never liked using color pencils but I found some Prismacolor pencils at Sams this week for a great price so I picked them up. Now here on this card, the only place I used a gray color pencil was on its ears. I was afraid I'd mess my card up so I started off slow. Still lots more practice! LOL

Hot Cocoa Anyone?

This week has been so cold here that I have had to make myself walk each morning = gloves, scarf, hat, coat .... Everything about this card "warms me up"!

Gray/Red stripes

I love this color combination! For my stripes, I smeared my Tim Holtz Oxide inks directly from the ink pad onto the watercolor paper, let dry and then attached to my card base. I colored the image with my copic markers.

The Crafter's Cafe - Anything Goes

I can't believe it's February 1st so this means it's time for a brand new challenge at The Crafter's Cafe, and it's Anything Goes. One of our sponsors this week is Sheepski Designs and I chose this wonderful balloon image. I colored the balloons with Copic markers, trying to blend as much as I could. I still have troubles blending!! Then using my die cut machine, I used the x-stitched oval die cut by Gina Marie Designs. I traced around the balloons with gel pens. I think this would be great for Valentine's Day (which is fast approaching), anniversary or even a birthday card for a loved one. I'm thinking of saving it for my hubby for our 29th anniversary which is in May.

I can't wait to see what you will create at The Crafter's Cafe.

I am also entering this in the following challenges:
Double D Challenge - Fun with Balloons
The Paper Shelter - Digital only
