Happy Birthday

Being stuck at home, I am getting a lot of birthday cards done :). We are now under a "Stay at home" order in our county until April 29th. Schools are closed indefinitely.

80 candles

So I got this great stamp and die cut set a couple of weeks when Concord & 9th had their huge blowout sale. I decided today to make my aunt a birthday card. She turns 80 in a few months and this card has 80 candles. Now, it took me awhile to "revise" the diecut and candles as it comes 17 candles per sheet. So I cut off 1 candle of each piece of paper and used 5 rows of candles to get the 80 candles. I also had to revise the width of the original cardstock to more than 6 3/4" wide but it all worked out and I hope she likes it.

Happy Easter

During our quarantine time, I decided to get my Easter cards done. I had made a few but needed a few more so thought I would make them using challenges from Paper Playful. As for where I am in NC, we are not under quarantine yet but we are asked to "shelter in place" which means to stay home and only go out for groceries or for medical needs and this will start Monday at 5 pm. I've actually been doing this anyway for the past week.

Here's Ben & Jerry again, this cute Easter stamp from Whipper Snapper. I watercolored them both using my Jane Davenport watercolors. The sentiment is by Hero Arts. I had to stamp the individual letters so they aren't perfectly straight but it's the best I could do.

If you haven't heard about chemo angel you can read about it here. I send out 2 cards a week to my chemo angel. I have been doing this since August 2019 and I am on my 3rd chemo angel. It's so rewarding.

Happy Mail

We could ALL use some Happy Mail right about now don't you think with all that Coronavirus going on out in the world?  Here, in NC, they have closed ALL the schools, restaurants, and bars . Only take out and drive thru's are open. It's just hard to believe what is happening to the world right now!!

Cut It Up Challenge #196 Spring Fever - Use at least 3 butterflies

This week's challenge with Cut It Up is Spring Fever - Use at least 3 butterflies.  Meet Ben & Jerry. This cute duo is from Whipper Snapper and I just think they are the cutest for my Easter cards this year. I have 1 butterfly stamp from Stampendous so I stamped it three times. I stamped Ben & Jerry onto watercolor paper. I, then, masked them and the butterflies off and used my cloud stencil for the clouds. I watercolored everything using my Jane Davenport watercolor paints. I love these little pallets of paint that I found at Michael's. For the grass, I used my old stand-by Martha Stewart grass punch (which I have had for at least 20 years!) and I used these awesome digital papers from Digital Delights by Louby Loo. My circle die for the circle is called Wonky Stitched Circles by Gina Marie Designs.

I can't wait to see what you create for our challenge this week at Cut It Up. Don't forget to use a die cut!

Happy Easter with a bunny and a moose?

One of my oldest, dearest friends loves moose and so far, this year I sent her a Moose valentine card and a Moose St Patrick's Day card showcasing this moose die by Poppystamps. So ... with Easter coming next month, I thought I have to send her an Easter card. So I came up with this ... I used this Easter die cut by Cottage Cutz, colored it with my Catherine Pooler inks (using a q-tip to put it on) and I trimmed off the one rabbit on the right and added the moose. What do you think? I think I love it :). I hope she does too :).
