Helping one person might not change the whole world ...

Have you seen Unity Stamp's latest koala set and part of the proceeds go towards the fires in Australia? I had to order mine right away and I got it within 4 days. Thanks Unity!! You can get the stamp set here.

This card will go to my pen pal Tonia who lives in Australia. My pouches have arrived and she is heading to Gippsland with them. She's hoping to save some wildlife herself. I just cannot imagine!!

Double Triangle Mini Fun Fold Birthday card

When I watched this video from Chicken Scratch, I knew I had to try to make this card. It's so easy. I saw a card on Instagram that inspired me to make this card. I usually add the balloons to the top of the car and this girl added them to the back of the car and I thought "Oh what a great idea!" You can see Tardis_Blau's creation here. I love how it came out and will definitely be making more :).

You're in my thoughts today

What do I do when the sentiment is too large to add to your card? I cut it into smaller pieces and glue it on.  This stamp is so great for birthday, sympathy cards, thinking of you cards. I decided to make this into a sympathy card. I decided to add this awesome washi tape to the bottom and I really love how it came out. I used my Tombow markers and water to color the flowers and leaves.

Cut It Up Challenge #192

At Cut It Up this week, we are making Get Well Soon cards. Here is mine and I sure had fun with this Stampin Up Get Well set. I fell in love with this sloth right away when I saw him in the catalog last summer. First, I found a sheet of embossed paper by DCWV and I sponged it using my Catherine Pooler inks with a brush from Picket Fence. I stamped this cute sloth using Gina K's black ink and then I colored him with my Copic markers. I used my Gina Marie X-Stitched Oval die and cut him out. I added a tiny bit of glitter pen to his cast. For the sentiment, I got it from Digital Delights by Louby Lou. I just hand cut out each word to make it fit better on my card. What do you think? I can't wait to see your get well cards at Cut It Up.

Koala by Lily of the Valley

I made 6 more joey pouches with 3 liners for each one and mailed them to Tennessee yesterday. TN is one of 6 HUBS in the US where we can send our handmade things for Australia. I'm not sure how they are going to get to Australia from TN but at least I got mine to the HUB before the January 30th deadline.

Also, I wanted to let you know Unity Stamp Company has come out with a brand new stamp set called "Koala-ty Friend" and 50% of the proceeds will go to help with the fires in Australia. There are 8 stamps in this set. That's a terrific deal!  Yes, I ordered it and it's currently on sale for only $10 FOR THE WHOLE SET. You can find it here.

Thank You

I have been wanting a koala or a kangaroo stamped or digital image and finally found one at this Etsy store. It's by Lili of the Valley and isn't he just the cutest? Profits from the sale will be donated to the WWF Australian Bushfire Relief fund.

I'm still sewing joey pouches for the injured animals. I shipped one shipment off to my friend in Australia and since that was rather expensive, I may ship my next package to the US Hub in TN.
They have to have all projects by Jan 30th so they can get a head count what they have and what is still needed so I will see what I can do the next few days. I'll post more pics as I have them finished.

Wildlife pouches and a wallaby pouch are on their way to Australia

I got these all packed up yesterday and they are now on their way down under. I may do more later but waiting to see what all is still needed. Reading lots of conflicting information as to they need more, they have too much, etc.

Wallaby bags anyone? LOL

I don't have any cards for you today because I spent all day yesterday making some more little pouches for the wounded animals in Australia. I also tried my hand at a wallaby pouch. I first made a proto-type so I could practice to make sure I was making it right and once I had that down, I finished a real one and I think it is so cute!!  Here are a couple of pics. I have lots of fabric left over so I can probably make 2-3 more. Did you know that there is a "day-time" pouch and a "night-time" pouch? This one is a day-time pouch as it has the cutout in the front so they can poke their little heads out. The night-time pouch doesn't have the cut out. Guess I should make a few of those too.

I hope to get a bunch made by Monday and then pop them in the mail to my friend in Australia.

This is me saying "I MADE THIS?" lol

When I saw this koala flannel
at Joann Fabrics, I had to get it
(plus it was on sale)

I put this stuffed animal
bear in here so you can see
how it sits in it

A terrible pic of me but
wanted you to see how

The Crafter's Cafe - CAS

The Crafter's Cafe's challenge this week is CAS (Clean and Simple). I'm using Eggbert Winter by Bugaboo and I just think she is so cute!!You can find her here at Bugaboo. (Eggbert might be a "he" but since he's all in pink, I made it a "she") LOL

I can't wait to see what you create at The Crafter's Cafe for this fortnight challenge.

I am also entering it in the following challenge:

Bastel-Traum Challenge 85 - Monochrome/Glitter

The Bastel-Traum's challenge this week is Monochrome/Glitter. This image by Concord & 9th is so great for a birthday card, thinking of you card, get well card, almost anything. I just love it! I colored this using my Jane Davenport colors, only using one shade of blue but I kept using more water to make some shades lighter than others. I really liked how it came out.

I would love to see what you make over at Bastel-Traum.

Sewing for Australia

Have you seen the heartbreaking news on the fires that are out of control in Australia? It just breaks my heart. I have a pen pal who lives in Victoria, Australia and we've been friends for 30 years. She asked if I could sew anything for the injured animals. I thought "sure why not?" I have TONS of left over fabric that is just sitting in my drawers so I dug those out and got to work. Of course, I spent all day yesterday scouring the internet, joining a couple of different crafting fb groups to see what they needed. I got it all figured out and took a trip to Joann's today for flannel fabric (I had everything BUT flannel as I was always afraid to sew flannel but it actually was pretty easy). The flannel is needed for the liners inside of these bags. They are very easy to make and I have no idea how many I will get made. I also want to make a joey bag that they actually carry the small kangaroos around in a bag. That's on my agenda tomorrow. I wanted to try these first since they were much easier.

They have hub's set up all around the US that you can literally take your things there to get mailed off but I am mailing mine directly to my friend Tonia. She said she would hand deliver them and she is so excited I am doing this for them.

This is the you tube video I followed.

This is already a week old but look at
everything they need. Literally, 100's of thousands
of crafters around the world are stepping up to sew
for these poor animals.

It is so hard to find the right words

For this card, I used my Tim Holtz Oxide inks and just randomly stamped the petals and leaves. I kind of like how it came out, not all in the lines. I also decided to stamp and decorate the inside of the card. I need to do this more often!!
