Just because ...

WOW! I can't believe this is the last day of February!! This card reminds me of Spring which will soon be here in the Carolina's. In fact, some of our Bradford pear trees are in full bloom. We have had so much rain the past few weeks. Yesterday we had a nice sunny day, so we headed to the zoo in Asheboro and really enjoyed that. (I'm sharing a few pics below) It had been YEARS since we had been there. The weather was just perfect for it. Of course, the sunny weather didn't last and it's back raining again today with high's only in the 50's.

Congrats Baby

This was a real simple baby card to make. I stamped the image onto printed cardstock (from First Edition Paper) and then I cut around it and placed it on top of the white cardstock. I then cut out little banners in the matching patterned paper and placed it on top of card. Stamp the sentiment underneath the "onesie" and voila, all done!!

Fly Free

I found a digi online site called Create with TLC and you can print off free downloads of cute images. You can find them here. I printed off this bird onto kraft cardstock and then I used my colored pencils to enhance some of the colors.

Happy Mother's Day

This is a digital stamp I picked up somewhere online. I have to apologize as I don't remember exactly where I printed it off from. I now realize I should've written it down when I downloaded it. I colored the flowers with Copic markers and I stamped the sentiment using Versamark ink and then I used white embossing powder onto the black cardstock so it would be easily seen on the dark cardstock.

Pop up card challenge at Back at Basics and Beyond

I am excited to announce I am now a new member of the design team at Back at Basics and Beyond. This is one of my favorite challenge blogs as they go back to the "basics" of stamping and even though I have been stamping for 20 years, I forget about all these basics I used to do.

There is a new challenge this week at Back to Basics and Beyond and it's "make a pop up card".This card was so much fun to make. I know I have seen them over the years but not sure I have ever actually made one. I followed the tutorial at Splitcoast Stampers and you can see it here. I decided to get out my owl stamps from Unity Stamps and use them. I put my owls on with little strips of acetate so they bounce around when  you open the card. I hope you join our challenge this week at BBB.

Happy 97th Birthday

I follow this man on Instagram who recently turned 97 years young!! He has over 20,000 followers and I enjoy reading his Instagram stories. They had a big party for his birthday and asked followers to send him cards so I sent this one. This is my "go to" card for men. I got out my Oxide inks and did some masking to get the sunset in there.

Challenge #106 at Challenge Up Your Life Guest Designer

I am the guest designer for Challenge #106 at Challenge Up Your Life and the theme is "Case the Design Team". I have chosen to CASE Steffie's Hello card and you can see it here. Here is my card. I used my Jane Davenport watercolor paints to paint the background blue. Using a zig black fine tip marker, I drew the lines around the card. Then I stamped the dog onto watercolor paper and colored him using my Jane Davenport watercolors. Stamped the Hello bubble word and added it to the card.

I hope you'll join Challenge Up Your Life for challenge #106 and you can find it here.

Paper piecing

I have always loved to paper piece. This card took me awhile to make because some of the tiny parts I had to paper piece, it was just easier to stamp it a 2nd or 3rd time and cut out that small piece instead of cutting all around it. But I love how she came out!! Can you tell this is becoming my favorite stamp at the moment? She's so much fun to color!!
