Happy 50!

I made this for my cousin who turns 5-0 this summer. I love this beach scene by Technique Junkies. It makes a great card for any man in your life and it's easy to color as well. I just sponged some Tim Holtz distress inks on it and then I made a sun by making a mask and sponging on the yellow/orange. I decided to go by the one sketch which is why I cut them into panels.

Happy Birthday Tonia!

Tonia and I have been pen pals for 25+ years. Tonia lives in Australia and I live in NC. Back in 2005, we met in Las Vegas face to face after writing for so many years. I haven't seen her since then but I hope our paths across some day again soon!!

When I saw this image by Impression Obsession, I knew right away I was going to have to get it because Tonia's dog, Taggart, is a Westie (who is white) and I had to make her a card using this image.

I actually colored 2 separate images of this stamp and made one into
a card and one I put in a frame I found at Hobby Lobby.
I colored each one using my Tombow markers and water. 

Flamingos with shadow in the water

I recently found this retired Stampin Up stamp set on Splitcoast Stampers. I had been looking for it for a few weeks. I used wax paper to make the mirror image in the water with the flamingos. I just recently learned this technique and it's so easy to do!!!

I used my Spectrum Aqua markers and water for the birds.

I stamped this elephant stamp onto watercolor paper. I wanted a 2nd elephant facing him so I stamped the elephant onto wax paper and then turned it over and smeared it onto the paper. I watercolored both elephants with my Tombow markers and water. I used my Martha Stewart grass punch to punch out the grass in different shades of green.

Birthday wishes flamingo style

I stamped these flamingos 3 times on a piece of watercolor cardstock. I colored the birds using my Tombow markers and water. I let them dry and then I made a mask for the sun and I sponged on my Tim Holtz yellow and orange to make the sun. I let everything dry real good before I watercolored the water, using my Tombow marker and water.

No-line coloring elephant

I've been wanting to try no-line coloring for a very long time and the few times I tried, I hated how it came out and into the trash it went. I decided to try it again and I actually really like how this card came out. Splitcoast has a great, easy tutorial by Jenn that you can follow and you can find it here. I want to try it with other stamps I have, especially with a flower stamp.
