We only get snow a couple of times a YEAR if that. Emily ended up working today but I didn't want her driving on the icy roads so Charlie and I took her. I figured she would call us about 2 hours later but she ended up working till 8 so we will be leaving shortly to pick her up. While she was at work, I watched Nicholas and Charlie do some more sledding and then we built 2 snowmen. Here are some more snowy photos for your viewing pleasure :).

Have you tried the faux grid technique?
I did it today and I really love how this Easter card came out. I, again, embossed the chocolate bunny. This time on white paper with brown embossing powder (yes, I had to go to Hobby Lobby today before the snowstorm hit so I can emboss over the weekend if we are snowed in and its too cold to build a snowman). LOL What do you think????? You can find the directions here if you want to try it yourself.

Copic markers with an air compressor
I got a new toy today, thanks to Cindy in Iowa. She just got the Copic marker airbrush kit along with a new air compressor so I wanted to try it too. Charlie and I went to Harbor Freight with a coupon and came out with one in hand. I made this card today and I wanted to show this to Jackie so I hope she sees it. I was trying to tell her how I had learned to cut a nestie like this and I had a hard time telling her so here are photos that will hopefully explain it to her.
First, I put the Labels 3 Nestie up against the image. As you can see, I want her head above the shape of the nestie so I moved it up on the top and then I marked with a pencil (so I can erase it later) where I wanted it to cut with the scissors. I cut with my scissors on each side of her head to the point where I want the nestie to go up to. Then I tuck the image underneath the nestie where I cut it. Then you cut your image out using your Cuttlebug or whatever diecut machine you have and make sure you turn the cut side the right way. If you don't, it will cut off her head. LOL I then colored the image and then decided I needed to add a little more background "spray" using my Copic marker airbrush system. So if you look carefully, you can see it a little darker where I sprayed it before finishing the card. I need to practice alot more using my copics and the airbrush kit but I really do like the end result!!!
Stamp by Sugar Nellie (I actually won this stamp from the Stamp Shack. I participated in a New Years card contest and only 3 of us did the challenge so we each won something! I love it. Thanks Joan!)

Emily started her 2nd semester of her senior year
and I totally forgot to tell about her first day. Her classes are pretty easy this last semester and with the senior project behind us, I'm sure it will be a breeze (I hope!). One of her classes is an internship at the elementary school nearby. Every day she goes there for her 1st period and stays for over an hour & 1/2. She has to have 135 hours logged by the end of the semester. Her first day was yesterday and she said she had fun with the kindergartners. If the class goes on a field trip, she is allowed to go with them and miss her other classes. It would count as an excused absence. Graduation is just around the corner!!!

Bikini ATC's
Check out these ATC's. Oh my gosh, some of them made me laugh out loud when I opened them up. They are all so cute!! And who would've thought we would've had 3 different chickens in bikinis in the same swap? LOL

Got donuts?
Have you seen the new Hero Arts donut stamps? I made 2 of these cards. One for Mary and one for Lorraine. We usually try and meet at Dunkin Donuts once a month and we usually just email each other to set it up. I thought it would be fun to send them each a card. I googled Dunkin Donuts and inserted that image on the coffee cup. I hope they like them!

I know Valentines Day isn't here yet but i wanted to make some cards using my new Stampin Up stamp
I love this chocolate bunny. Isn't he cute?????? I first stamped him in versamark ink on chocolate chip Stampin Up paper, then I embossed him with clear embossing powder. I really don't emboss much, I had a horrible experience with it a few years ago and its taken me this long to try it again. LOL Anyway, I cut out the chocolate bunny and then I cut green paper with my Martha Stewart fringe scissors. I love these scissors by the way!!! 1 card done, 10 more to go :).

My blog book came today!!
And I love it!! The Cutest Blog on the Block.com is where I get my backgrounds from for my blogs. They made me the CUTEST book on my other blog, My Life in Photos. Its hardback and has 182 pages!! (this includes the table of contents which I was hoping to delete since they take up 20 pages but they make it from a template and those table of contents cannot be taken out). Anyway, I placed my order on Jan 11th and it came today, a week later. It was a little bit pricey but I think its worth it. I just love it and plan to save it for Emily or Nicholas, when they can appreciate it one day :). Isn't it pretty?

An easel card
I tried making an easel card today thanks to Beate over at Splitcoast. Here is the step-by-step tutorial and she did a great video on you tube. Here is my card. I have lots of Cool Caribbean paper left (it retired a few years ago) and I need to use it up. I put it with pink, not sure if it goes together that great but I then found some Bo Bunny paper with those colors and decided it looks pretty good :). PS Thanks Erin for the Eat Cake Graphics stamps. I love them all and will be using more on my cards in the future.

I bought the cutest new Amuse stamps today called Mandy's World
I went to La Carta Bella today in Matthews and this is what I found, some Mandy's World stamps by Amuse. They are so cute so I came home and made some cards. I got the idea with the card with the clouds from Jen's blog here. The clouds are by Class Act Stamps in Canada.

Its the first day since I don't know when we've had temps over 50 degrees
and it sure feels great. We haven't had a winter like this since 1978 I think the news said. Its been cold for us in NC.
High school had their exams this week but since Emily had less than 5 absences this semester and she had A's and B's in all of her classes she was exempt from all of them. She stayed home Monday and today and we are going to the mall in a little bit. She needs jeans for work. They have so many strict rules at Razzoo's and her jeans cannot have any brown stitching on them. Nothing on the back pockets (words or buttons or writing or ...). Have you looked at your jeans lately? They almost all have brown stitching on them. We will be looking for jeans which is always a challenge anyway since she is a size 0. I don't think I was ever a size 0. Never!!! I hope you have a great day today!!

Have your cupcake and eat it too ...
I find that I am drawn to certain stamps. Cupcakes, roosters, snowmen, ice cream, flip flops, watermelon ... anytime I see a stamp with these images ... I just have to have them. I saw this cupcake Martha Stewart punch and thought "Yep, I have to have it!" and into the cart it flew. LOL I have several birthdays coming up so I made a few cards this weekend to add to my stash.

Its 10 degrees here this morning ....
That's only 1 degree WARMER than Bangor, Maine!! We don't have snow, just super cold this morning. We will be FINALLY warming up this week to the 50's come Wednesday. Even 10 is too cold for me!! LOL
