I really don't have an excuse. Just lots of things going on around here that has been preventing me from making cards lately. We had a cold rainy day today so I decided to sit down and look at upcoming birthdays and holidays and I made a few cards. Shocking I know!!

Card #1 is a digital image from Mo's Digital Pencil. This image will come in handy for several boys and men I know this year!! LOL

Card #2 is a digital image from Sassy Cheryl's. She has a bunch of them marked down for $2.00 each. Such a bargain!!!

On both cards, I used A Muse Studio's shimmer cardstock. Oh my gosh! I love this cardstock!! Its the first time I have used it and I must say I will be using it alot more from now on!! LOVE LOVE LOVE!!!

I got this idea from the new A Muse Studio catalog, page 58. Instead of Happy Happy Happy all the way to the bottom, I added Birthday to the bottom so it is a little bit different.

These are brand new colors - Grape and Pistachio. I love this color combination!!!

We got a few of these stamp sets FREE at our convention in New Orleans last weekend so I could not wait to play with them. Cupcakes continue to be all the rage so I chose to play with that set first. I love this set!!! Lots of versatility to it.

This is a cute new robot set coming out in the new catalog called "Love Machines". Why didn't they have this cute set out 13 years ago when Nicholas was a "kid"? This is also a brand new color called Rialto. Its like an army green color. Perfect for boys!!

Bourbon Street during the day. It looked ALOT different at night. LOL

Some make and takes we did at the convention. These are all brand new stamp sets in the new catalog which comes out Feb 1st. I have my catalogs already and they are being mailed out today, for those who ordered one.

A couple of these cards were some that came from home office using new stamp sets. I must get these 2 sets of new stamps.

And these are some Vintage stamps. These are a very different style of what A Muse usually does but I think those who love Vintage will love these!!

Ok, I wasn't too sure about this crab in my Seafood Gumbo. It had legs sticking out of it. No way, no how was I going to eat that! LOL After taking the crab out of my gumbo, it was delicious!!!

I can't wait for the next convention next year. Where will it be????

The A Muse Studio convention was this past weekend in New Orleans. Oh boy did we have a fun time! 36 of us went and it was lots of fun. We got to see the new paper colors, new stamp pads, new glitter and new ribbon. I especially love the new silky crush ribbon. Very nice!!

One afternoon, Heather from A Muse Studio gave us a quick tutorial how to use our Copic markers. Even though I have been using them for awhile now, she taught us some new techniques that I had never learned. Like do you know you can make patterns out of your copic marker colored image with the Copic blending solution? Who knew? :)

This is me, Chelsea, Marissa and Ginger at Po Boys. That place was cheap and good!

We had a gala/awards event on Saturday night. These are Linda's shoes. She used the actual brand new A Muse Studio glitter on them and they came out wonderful!!! We got all dressed up, had bread pudding and baked alaska (that was very yummy I might add!)

When I saw these ghiradelli boxes on Beate's blog, I knew I wanted to make these for the girls on my team with A Muse Studios. These are showcasing the brand new colors coming out in the new catalog, Grape, Grapefruit and Pistachio. I think Pistachio is my favorite out of all of them!! (They will available in the new catalog Feb 1st). And this is a new stamp set called Hey, Cupcake that is also brand new. It fits 2-3 ghiradelli chocolates inside and I hope the girls love them!!

What's my excuse now? I haven't worked since Christmas Eve. HA HA I was looking at blogs today and I came across the cutest images from Tiddly Inks. I had forgotten all about their digitals and I found some really cute ones. I made a few cards tonight while the "boys" were watching football. Here is one I made with the girl with the big birthday cake. I decided it needed "something" on the cake so I added some glitter and I do like that much better!! I am using the brand new Grape cardstock from A Muse (you can order it after Feb 1st). I purposely made those polka dots on the green layer using my colorless blender. (You can see each photo larger if you click on each photo)

My friend Missy sent me this Louis Vuitton little purse, right before Christmas. I was shocked!! I found the background LV paper online and had to make a cute thank you card for her :). Isn't the purse ADORABLE????? I just love it!

I hope you all had a wonderful holiday. We did here and celebrated with everyone coming here the day after Christmas.

This morning I took Emily to the airport. She's in NYC for her very first time. Her boyfriend is from up there and they spent Christmas there so she flew up to be with them for a few days. They will do Times Square on New Years Eve and she is hoping to see Justin Bieber and Lady Gaga with the other 1,000,000's of others there. LOL

I hope to make a few cards today. Momma Thacker is here visiting for a few days so I hope to get a few made :).

OMG - I just can't seem to find any time to stamp, let alone pull my blog up and put some cute cards on it. I'm working 47 hours this week, 52 hours next week ... and then it comes to a SCREECHING halt!! I will have 10 hours the week after Christmas and then the whole month of January NONE!! So I am trying to hang in there until then. Please be patient with me and don't give up on me just yet. I promise to come back when I have more time to myself!!!

I'm neglecting my blog because of work. December is the BUSIEST for the fragrance season so this week I work 48, next week 42 and the week of Christmas is 51 HOURS! I have my snowman tree up and my bigger tree is up but not decorated yet. My Christmas shopping is STARTED so I really need to finish it.

Wish me luck that "I" survive all this madness!!! LOL

When I saw this Penny Black stamp at Hobby Lobby, I had to have it. I even got Michelle one for her birthday too.

On the 2nd card, I used something called Washi tape. OMG - I am in love!! Its like a paper masking tape and A Muse Studio sells it in different colors. I love it!!!

I have been stamping for 10 years. Alot has changed in 10 years. I have changed my style quite a bit I think over the years. I prefer more simple cards now and I very rarely use patterned paper on my cards anymore. What happened? I used to make every single card with patterned paper of some kind. I love making my own backgrounds now. That's one thing I used to never do. I love learning new techiques. I can't get enough of you tube videos.

My Christmas cards are done for the season. I only made 30 this year. I love how this card came out. I found the stamp at Hobby Lobby on sale for 40% off. I used red beads for his hat and I used glaze for his glasses.

This time we could pick either Christmas, Kwanzaa or Hanukkah. I have chosen a Christmas ornament that I made out of a switch plate cover. I got the idea from a Hero Arts tutorial and you can watch it here ... All supplies besides the switch plate covers and transparencies are from A Muse Studio. I got the switch plate covers at Home Depot, a box of 10 for ONLY $5.55 and the transparencies I got from Hobby Lobby. Cute huh?

LOL. How do other gals do it? Work full-time and have time to blog???? I gotta get it in gear. Another few weeks have gone by once again. I know, I know ... no excuses!!

I took a little trip to Cincinnati this weekend to spend some time with my aunt and uncle. Uncle Jimmy broke his hip about 6 weeks ago and he is in a nursing home trying to get better. He can't put any weight on this leg yet until it heals better.

Halloween Pouch

When I saw this cute cute cute Halloween pouch on Dawn's blog made out of an envelope, I knew it would be perfect to make for little Halloween treats. This cat with A Muse Studio is perfect for my Katy Perry cat perfume. I just stamp it in purple and it matches the cat bottle "purrrfectly"!!! (LOL)

This went together super fast and I plan on making a bunch to hand out on the Saturday before Halloween while I am selling perfume at Belks. Aren't they cute? I may get some little bags of m&m's to go in them. Instead of using brads, I used my Tim Holtz tiny stapler (I somehow have run out of brads).

I am doing a blog hop today. I decided to make the same Christmas card using 3 different techniques. For this card, I used the brand new "Holy Night" from A Muse Studios. I really love this set!!

For the above card, I used white embossing powder on the image. I love how it came out on the dark cardstock. The base card is the brand new color "Pebble" and I think its my #1 favorite of all the A Muse cardstock colors right now. Perfect for Christmas cards!!

For this card above, I embossed the stamps in black embossing powder. Then I masked around the main image and airbrushed the background using one of my blue Copic markers. I also loved how this came out.

Last but not least, I tried out the new cherry woodgrain cardstock for the base of the card. I stamped the images in regular Memento black ink on Sugar cardstock. I wanted a little blue on this one so I just smudged some of my Ocean ink around the edges and in the middle. I added gold stickles onto the star.

WOW!! I had a very busy weekend. I had to work at the Southern Women's Show selling Beyonce, Guess, Tommy Bahama, and Nautica perfume and cologne. It was pretty crowded and we sold $4700 at our booth.

I haven't stamped in weeks but hopefully I will find some time this week!! Stay tuned :).

Its been 4 years this month that breast cancer took my bff Robin from me. I still miss her everyday and miss talking to her!!!

Emily and Tino came home for the long Labor Day weekend

I love these A Muse Studio blog hops. They are so much fun and you get to see a variety of cards hopping from blog to blog to blog. This month's theme is "use something new out of the holiday A Muse Studio catalog".

If you are participating in the blog hop, you should've come from Tami's blog and if not, then you should start from the beginning with Samantha's blog until you come to my blog.

Card #1 - I used Cranberry cardstock and I embossed it by using the Snowflake/Candy stripe die folder. I glued that onto our brand new Pebble cardstock. I love the Pebble cardstock. Especially for the holidays, I think it goes wonderful with Cranberry and Navy. I then cut a piece of white felt out using the snowman die from A Muse Studios. I colored his hat with a black copic marker, tied a piece of cherry & white twine around his neck and added 2 Cranberry pearl stickers. I stamped the image Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from the stamp set "Holiday Greetings Inside & Out". This stamp set is so versatile!!

Card #2 - I again used Pebble cardstock as the base of the card and then I ran my Navy cardstock through the Big Shot (we carry the pink & black Big Shot for only $99.95 on page 103 in the 2011 A Muse Studio catalog) embossing the snowflake/candy stripe die folder. To get the white snowflakes to pop out, I used a sanding block and just went over the snowflakes. I love A Muse cardstock, its color on one side and white on another and if you sand over the color part, it comes through white and I just love that. I then stamped a Christmas postmark on the blue cardstock from the new stamp set called "Vintage Christmas Postcards". I stamped that in navy A Muse Studio ink. I cut a snowman out of the Twas the Night Before Christmas cardstock and cut a very thin piece of red felt to make a scarf and tied it around his neck. Added black pearl stickers and voila!! Isn't he the CUTEST??????

A simple yet beautiful Christmas card

I love how this Christmas card came out. I used our brand new color Pebble cardstock from A Muse Studio for the base. I used Versamark to stamp the image and then embossed it in white on navy cardstock. I added a tiny red pretty pearl to Rudolph's nose. Do you see his red nose? LOL

Yep, I am. My new A Muse goodies came by UPS today. I was expecting it on Tuesday so when I found out my package was delayed due to inclement weather, I couldn't believe it. I don't know if it was the heat or what, but he finally delivered my box to me tonight and I could not wait to open it!! Emily and Timmy are at the beach for the week so Nicholas and I are puppy sitting Tino. He is only 8 weeks old and has been real good about going potty outside. I haven't posted anything to my blog in over a week. I've been working some the past few weeks selling Beyonce, Guess, Nautica and Tommy Bahama cologne. I hope I get busy with it being Fathers Day and all.

I got my hair colored a little darker today. She also cut off about 4" so its up to my shoulders now. Not sure you can tell in this recent photo :).

School has been out for about a week. Emily is home for the summer and working alot of hours at Razzoos. Her 19th birthday is next week. She's spending it at the beach with her friends.

Our challenge for this month's blog hop is to make our DP (also known as designer paper). I took some of my polka dots stamps and made a background. I love anything polka dots!! This was super easy. We were to Pick a Square. Then split the card into four corners and the center square and then choose which square to use for our image and leave the rest as white space.

This was right up my alley. I love cards with lots of white space. So this one was an easy one and I love how it came out :).

White on White Color Challenge

WOW, this was harder than I thought it would be. I'm not sure I've ever made an all-white card in the 10 years I have been stamping. So this is it - my first all-white card!! The blog "Less is More" is having a challenge where you make a card using ONLY WHITE.

Well, what do you think????? Its hard to get white to show up on white paper. I used glitter on top of the stamped image to make it show up more.

See? That's what happens when I start working!! LOL I had a busy day at Belks on Friday and Saturday. Sold $600 so I thought that was pretty good. I was so busy on Saturday, I never stopped all day!!! We now Emily home for the summer and all is good :).

First, I stamped the flowers in Orange ink from A Muse. These flowers are from the Graphic Sunflower A Muse set.

Next, I stamped the stems in Fern and I used the Mad for Plaids A Muse set.

Last but not least, I stamped the butterfly in bubblegum pink and the Congratulations in Orange A Muse ink. The butterfly is from Just Because and the sentiment is from the Past Due set.

I added bubblegum pink buttons (from A Muse) and got this as my final card on orange A Muse cardstock.

Have you tried duct tape on a card?

I had a great first day at work. The 6 hours went pretty fast considering perfume was not selling that much the day before Easter. Everyone was real nice and I will do it again this Fri and Saturday. People need to buy for Mother's Day.

Emily was home for Easter. She left real early this morning to head back. We will have to move her back home for the summer in the next week and 1/2. We'll make one trip down this week, bring back a load and then make the final move back next week.

Nicholas is home on spring break this week. This is the latest we've ever had spring break I think. I hope to get our garden planted this week. Looking forward to having my tomato sandwiches everyday for lunch. I remember when I hated tomatoes - now I love my tomato sandwiches on toasted bread with light mayo. Mmmmmm

I haven't stamped much lately in the last week. Have you heard about "washi" tape? A Muse Studios sells it and even though I haven't tried it yet, I decided to try duct tape and Walmart has designer duct tape for cheap. So I made this card with duct tape cut in strips in the background. What do you think?

Yes, I am now a working girl once again. After raising 2 teenagers and being fortunate enough to stay home with them, I decided its time to go out and find something. It hasn't been easy since I have been filling out job applications online for about 2 months. Angela recommended me for this job and I had my interview today. I will be a perfume model at Belks in Concord. I will be squirting these perfumes on cards and handing them out to people: Guess Seductive, Beyonce Heat, and Beyonce Rush perfume for Women. Nautica for Men. I start this Saturday :). I can't wait!!!

Have you noticed alot of cards have bakers twine on them? I love the stuff but only have a limited supply that I bought of Martha Stewart around the holidays. It was on clearance and I used some on this card for Lesa. She sold her house after being on the market for awhile. I am so happy for her!!!!

All supplies used in these 3 cards are by A Muse Studio.

#1 - awesome gingham cardstock (bubblegum pink), bubblegum pink buttons, green stitched ribbon, nestabilities scallop circle, Sleepy Sighs stamp set.

#2 - grass polka dot cardstock, Sweet Love stamp set, Copic markers, Diamond glitter on heart

#3 - white cardstock, Make a Scene stamp set (clouds), Lots of Dots stamp set (sun), Woodland Friends (tree) and verse is by Friends Fur-Ever. Using grass die, I made the grass using grass polka dot cardstock. I masked the tree, clouds and sun and used my airbrushing with my Copics markers to make the sky.

Keep the inner liner or toss it?

When you get your A Muse Studio stamp sets, they come in DVD cases. You have the choice to either take out the inner liner with the stamps in them and just let them stick onto the DVD case by themselves or keep them in their original places. I first took mine out but did not throw it away and I am glad I kept it. I prefer to keep the inner line inside and use it that way.
